Bahr Lab had a productive week! 🌊 Our chambers simulated coral respiration in different turbidity levels. Thanks to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection! 🙌 Corals thrived, and regrowth in Orbicella faveolata was explored. Multiple tests ensure data reliability. 🧑‍🔬 #coralreasearch

Our team in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection is conducting experiments to measure the impact of turbidity on corals. We monitor turbidity changes over time to understand sediment loss, using math to maintain desired NTU levels in our samples. Stay tuned for more updates! 🪸#science!

Bahr Lab interns learned how to feed Mountainous star coral (Orbicella faveolata) and Staghorn coral (Acropora cervicornis) with phytoplankton, Golden Pearls, and Reef Roids, practicing target feeding 2-3 times weekly. This sustains coral health and tank balance. #coralcare #learninginterns 🪸🌊
