I’ve been having a lot of fun with minimal color palettes lately

You’re lying to yourself and others if you think you’re never in “procrastination” or “perfectionism” moods… XD

I’ve been making a lot of tradition pen ‘n’ paper pieces lately out of old, unfinished sketches. Here’s the latest! #art #drawing #sketch

A thousand years into the future; A thousand years into the past. Kings and puppets, Blood and strings, Gilded men and broken things.

I have a small series of the Crone I may start posting consistently. #art #blackandwhite #digitalart #fantasyart

It’s all built up from greyscale—I’ve found I prefer that method

I’ve finally finished the Knight and the Wyrm piece! I ended up deciding less is more. #art #digitalart #illustration #dragon #ocart

I’m very interested by the scar across the throat 00 how did that come about?

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

Correct, correct, and correct. She is spacewoman. She is magic. And she IS awesome.

010

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

1) See arcane residue. Think like an invisible energy left by magical batteries or powerful spells. This helps her find better pieces that may otherwise be lost or damaged. 2) Protect herself in the process of runic welding. Kinda like regular welding, but a lot safer! Still very bright, though.

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

Okay, walk with me. If you look closely, you can see the band is kinda patchwork. This is because they are a custom set made by the Scavenger herself. It’s a variety of flexible materials and the lens are specially made by her. They’re enchanted to do two things:

Apologies for the brief spam—I just figured I’d come back with a bit of a bang! I’m going to try to get to posting regularly (daily or every other day), so you’ll be seeing more from me!

6. The Restorer The spacewoman to the other’s old fantasy—but just as magical, I assure you! Using runic machines she takes the broken and heals until it’s as good as new. Last, but so very far from least. #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

5. The Scavenger With destruction comes plenty of parts to adapt and innovate with! She’ll do her damndest to make sure no material goes wasted and not piece neglected! #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

Barring the actual outfit, which is QUITE fluffy, the Climber is more spiky

110

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

4. The Climber When all else fails… enjoy the time you have left! The Climber—also known as the storyteller—takes the grim apocalypse and uses it to do what interests them in the end times. They collect the stories of others and share in turn. #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

3. The Knight Perhaps the most straight-forward of the six. He takes on a head on approach with the impending disasters and tries to vanquish the ones causing it. #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

2. The Messenger A strange agent of fate who—as the title suggests—delivers messages. He tries to help correct the mistakes made by the Wayfarer and prevent the Undoing. #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

I learned of an angora rabbit a year or so ago and immediately made a whole character around them. Thank you for spreading the good word XD

Who’s winning the staring contest?

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

Makes sense to me! (Has spent numerous hours studying to learn similar) Congratulations on it all coming together and welcome to the fold of artists who understand Ye Olde Ways.

1. The Wayfarer. A cynical explorer who discovers an ancient being of unfathomable power. And the first of a series of characters telling an interwoven story of an apocalypse. #Art | #DigitalArt | #FantasyArt | #OCArt

I love how dynamic this piece is! The pose! The clever blurring! *chef’s kiss*

TheatricalThing @theatricalthing.bsky.social · 05/03/2025

My reaction was the same. This was one of those ideas I had where I blacked out at my computer and had a near-finished piece and a smoking stylus 30 minutes later. XD

@theatricalthing.bsky.social runs a DND game that me and the lovely fellows, @zinrastros.bsky.social @vaxelw.bsky.social play in. This is my and their characters as the Gorillaz, Demon days album.

From top left to bottom right the characters, Wick Lynchclaw, (played by me) Pyro, (played by another friend) Coreon Deloux (played by @zinrastros) and Altorius Wyndallum Calziros (played by @Vaxel Wyvernsmith) in an image referencing the gorillaz album, Demon Days.

Do they get more power from fear or is it literally their food source?

I’m a big fan of the unique style the painted textures bring!

I made a mistake in credit, but recently found the reference image I used. So sorry! It actually is one Joan Boada—a retired ballet dancer. McGee Maddox is also a very talented dancer—so still go check him out—but I’d be remiss to not make this correction.
