I got a refurbished Thinkpad and put Ubuntu on it today. Not only did all the peripherals work immediately, but VSCode, R and Rstudio installed and ran without a hitch. 1 hour of work. This same process took me about 3 days of troubleshooting a few years ago. I'm impressed Ubuntu.

Just turned in what I hope is a final draft of my thesis. It's a bit wordy. Every time I read it I found more typos, so there are probably more still lurking. I STILL feel like the organization is a bit off in an undefined way. However, I did not use AI. Not a wee bit. Not for a hint. Not at all.

Sure, I’ve raised 2 children to (very nearly) adulthood, cared for multiple dogs for up to 15 years and had many successful veggie gardens. However, for the first time in my 50+ years I kept house plants alive for a FULL YEAR!
