list challenges on letterboxd suck because there will be a movie that's a beloved classic in its home country and then all the negative reviews are from americans going "i only watched this because it was in the top whatever list but i didn't get it :( 2⭐" just watch something you'll actually like

i tend to like kamen rider suits with rounded shapes a lot more than the super angular ones and seeing the my-th suits is really reminding me of that

It’s been 53 years since the US backed military coup of Allende’s government in Chile. A democratically elected socialist was attacked. the fascist Pinochet took power and then tortured, arrested and killed socialists and teachers and labor leaders around the country. youtu.be/IZVWOWA2Hpk?...

Pigmon from episode 8 of the original Ultraman series.

megaranger episode 19 was so good but solving the conflict by giving kenta a powerup to make him punch harder was a bit silly lol. tokusatsu moment

usually my letterboxd scores for a movie are in the same ballpark as the community score (which makes it easy to find movies that I'll like) but recently I've been like hmmm i think a flying jatt is better than shin kamen rider 😁

I feel like I should learn what warhammer 40k is because half my family is from where games workshop is based so every time I say I'm into games they're like "ohhhhh do you know warhammer" and I'm like no

thoughts on the megaranger characters so far because they're all good - chisato: she's so cool and put together i love her - kouichiro: i like serious characters so he's really funny - shun: he's just like me fr (plays flute + computers) and he looks the most like an actual teen which i like

the worst part of using letterboxd is that every film that’s not in english has some top review with hundreds of likes, giving it 1 star and basically saying over and over: I DIDN’T GET IT. AND THAT’S THE MOVIE’S PROBLEM.
