I play as the world. Proud dad to a cancer survivor. Two dark fantasy settings: AETHELGARD, a kingdom that erased its own God, and THE ASHEN FRONTIER, folk horror America. Cryptid bestiaries, a game in progress, and many reflexions. Post Tenebras Lux.

1/10 I've been reading the first Point Pleasant Mothman reports instead of starting with the version that pop culture eventually standardized. The body is much stranger while the newspaper can still call it a bird, a creature, or simply something.

I'm building an anatomy book alongside the Ashen Frontier creature studies. The goal is not to add scientific labels after the art is finished. I want the anatomy to prove that the folklore, cultural interpretation, silhouette and encounter all belong to the same body.

I've been researching how the Leeds name, regional folklore and one week of newspaper reports became the creature we now call the Jersey Devil. For Ashen Frontier, I wanted the redesign to begin with that process, not with a familiar horse-and-bat silhouette.

These are the first finished pages from an anatomy book I'm building alongside Ashen Frontier. I'm taking each cryptid from its oldest descriptions into a consistent body. For the Hidebehind, became a folding thorax, rotating collar, hook-hands and anchoring tail. Let me know what you think

1/8 I've been reading about the Hidebehind because its old descriptions never give us a comfortable full view. They give us pieces, and the missing parts are what make the creature work.

Just want to know if you have any actual cryptid story told by your parents, family or friends that actually felt real while growing up, i had a few but right now i wanna share one with one that was surprisingly very common where i grew up and it was the urban legend of the aluxes.

Would love to hear some opinions on generative worldbuilding but with thousands and thousands predefined path and story nodes. Building the whole world up, what i mean is a world where there is a complete story or at least in development but with a central plotline where you can experience

One thing that has picked my interest since many years has been folk and cryptids in our cultures, being from America all the way to Asia or Australia, all these places are rich in folklore and beliefs that may be old or recent, but they all reach the same place of common belief on the supernatural.

i've been building two dark fantasy worlds for a while now and have posted about none of it, because i genuinely don't know how to talk about my own work. Basically i don't understand social media at all. starting anyway. this is post one.
