Slimemold shoot with Laowa Aksen 17mm 5-10x🍄 Yes, shooting at 8x handheld is way more difficult than 5x or less. But honestly, I think it’s double the fun and there’s so much more to explore. The outcome still needs some work.

An intimate portrait of a male mantis, with nothing but his curious little face filling the frame. Happy Sunday! #Mantis #MantisPortrait #InsectPortrait #MacroPhotography #insectphotography

Pure detail on a Small Skipper wing 🦋 Shot with the Laowa 25mm. When you zoom in, even the smallest scales become a whole landscape. #macro #ultramacro #macrophotography #butterfly #laowa25mm

Eben im ICE930 nach Binz hat ein Kind beim Ausstieg in Halle um ca. 13:40h seinen Eisvogel vergessen. Wird jetzt beim Zugpersonal abgegeben. Gerne verbreiten. #verloren #Eisvogel #ICE #DBBahn

Did you know? Misumena vatia can slowly change its colour from white to yellow, helping it blend into the flowers where it waits for unsuspecting pollinators. This remarkable transformation takes several days and is one of nature’s most fascinating camouflage strategies. 🌼🕷️

Still can’t believe I managed to catch this one in flight. ✨ A tiny gold wasp (Chrysididae), photographed with a CCTV lens. These little jewels are incredibly fast and constantly on the move, searching for the nests of other insects where they lay their eggs.

Robberfly with a view. A quiet moment in the open field. Sitting on its lookout, scanning the grasslands before taking off in pursuit of its next meal. Tiny predator, endless fascination. #RobberFly #MacroPhotography #OpenField #InsectPhotography #NaturePhotography

Calvia quatuordecimguttata ✨ A tiny ladybird with fourteen pale spots and a beautiful, subtle pattern. Nature always proves that even the smallest creatures deserve a closer look. #MacroPhotography #Ladybird #CalviaQuatuordecimguttata #InsectPhotography #NatureLovers

Sometimes all it takes is a small helping hand. I found this fly struggling on the surface of a woodland puddle. After lifting it out of the water, it took a moment to recover. Long enough for me to capture this portrait before it dried its wings and disappeared back into the forest.

Found this little frog on a tour with Silvan. 🍃 I couldn’t resist the green on green. Sometimes nature keeps things simple, and that’s exactly what makes it beautiful. Hope you enjoy this little forest friend as much as I did. 🐸💚 #frog #amphibian #forestphotography #macrophoto #naturelovers

Macro wide angle is one of my favourite ways to photograph insects. It shows not only the tiny details of the animal, but also the world it lives in.

Hard to spot these tiny natterjack toads. So many around that you really have to watch every step. Some hop away when disturbed, but often they freeze and make themselves look even smaller. Not always the best survival strategy when you’re trying not to get stepped on. Can you spot him? 🐸

A portrait of Stenocorus meridianus. Not every forest inhabitant is bright and flashy. Some blend perfectly into bark, dead wood and shadows. The Variable Longhorn Beetle spends most of its life hidden away as a larva inside decaying wood, only appearing as an adult for a short time.

A cranefly portrait. Most people walk past them without a second glance. I always stop. The long legs, the delicate details, and those surprisingly expressive eyes make them fascinating subjects. I was especially happy to find this one with a clear view of its face.

A split second of controlled chaos. A bumblebee suspended in mid-air, wings beating faster than the eye can follow, moving from flower to flower on its endless search for nectar. Capturing these fleeting moments is what makes nature photography so rewarding.

A tiny springtail wandering through the green world beneath the leaves. I only discovered it later on the photo while focusing on a caterpillar. Some forest creatures are so small, they stay invisible until the lens opens another door into their world.

Never saw a slime mold with a shape quite like this before. One of those small discoveries that makes a walk through the woods feel special. Sadly, I could not return later to check how it developed. Nature does not always wait for us, and maybe that is part of the magic.

Myrmica carrying a caterpillar. These ants always seem busy. There are lots of Myrmica around where I live, and I never get tired of watching them. Among the moss, there’s always something happening if you take the time to look closely.

One of my favorite beetles. These tiny fungus beetles always feel like little forest spirits hidden between moss, wood, and mushrooms. I was genuinely happy to suddenly find so many of them. Moments like this feel like small gifts from the forest. 🍄🪲

Close-up of an insect’s foot. I’ve always been fascinated by the incredible shapes and structures hidden in such tiny details. Every time I look closer, a whole new world appears. I hope I’ll be able to capture more images like this in the future.

🦂 The Scorpion That Isn’t a Scorpion I almost brushed it off my notebook. At first glance, it looked like a baby scorpion — tiny claws raised, frozen in defense. But then I noticed something missing: no tail. No sting.

Carrhotus xanthogramma What a find. This large male jumping spider is considered a rather uncommon species, and I was thrilled when I spotted him.

Macrophotography is often about spotting the tiny creatures hidden in plain sight. This spider was so stealthy that I almost missed it. Usually, we notice a small movement first, then take a closer look and discover a whole world beneath our feet. Can you spot the spider in this picture? 🕷️

✨ Meet the prickly little jewel of the weevil world – Trachodes hispidus! This tiny beetle may not be flashy, but look closer and you’ll see its amazing bristly body, perfectly adapted to blend into moss and bark.

A wing, seen so close that every tiny scale becomes visible. This is a wild shot of *Phymatopus hecta*, photographed in its natural habitat. Getting this close without disturbing the moth takes patience, steady hands, and a little luck.
