New on TCP: a guide to shared calendars and scheduling tools for organizers — what each platform reveals, and how to keep the infrastructure owned by your org, not one person. the-community-playbook.org/your-calendar-knows-more-than-you-think/
Three organizers looking at a calendar on a shared screen, surrounded by icons for video calls, groups, legal review, security, and privacy warnings.

Your calendar is a map of your organizing relationships — who you meet, when, how often, who's connected to whom. Most of us handed that map to Google without a second thought. Worth asking: what would someone learn about your network from your calendar alone? #DigitalOrganizing

There is one set of scientists who have chosen to do this - the climate scientists who were fired under doge. They saved a lot of climate info before it got deleted and can be seen at climate.us. Accessible for free with decades of information.

You know you should step away from the news. You're not doing it. That's not a discipline problem — it's your nervous system doing exactly what it was built to do. What's actually happening in your brain, and what the research says helps. the-community-playbook.org/your-brain-o...

@zephoria.bsky.social and co-authors argue that most AI accountability efforts are "decoys" — creating the illusion of oversight while actually strengthening the power networks they claim to challenge. Required reading for democratic organizers. arxiv.org/abs/2604.161...

The movement needs people who can sustain this work over time. That's not a self-care platitude. It's a strategic requirement.

Organizer tip: your video call tool and your meeting platform are different things. Zoom is fine for a public chapter meeting. It's a different calculation for anything that could attract scrutiny. Match the tool to the conversation — you don't have to switch everything at once. #DigitalOrganizing

There's a difference between "encrypted in transit" and "end-to-end encrypted." Most video platforms give you the first. It means your data is scrambled on the way to their server. It doesn't mean they can't read it when it gets there.

Federal charges in Minnesota this week are a reminder: the platform you meet on is part of your organizing infrastructure. A guide to video conferencing for organizers — what each platform does with your data. the-community-playbook.org/video-conferencing #DigitalOrganizing

Federal charges dropped on 15 Minnesota organizers this week. Whatever you think of the specifics: if the platform you meet on logs who attended, when, and for how long — that's a record. And records get subpoenaed.

3.5% of the population has never been moved by a single perfect message. It's moved by relationships, repeated asks, and infrastructure that holds. Build accordingly. #DigitalOrganizing
A flat illustration shows diverse groups of people in relaxed conversation against a cream background. Small clusters of figures—men and women of different ages and ethnicities—stand or sit together, talking and listening. Muted blue tones highlight clothing and details, creating a warm, grounded feeling of community and connection.

Venezuela's opposition collected tally sheets from 80% of precincts before the regime suppressed them. They didn't win through better messaging. They won because they built the infrastructure before they needed it. That's the model. the-community-playbook.org/telling-the-... #DigitalOrganizing

In December 2025, Meta restricted a Tanzanian activist's Instagram at government order. No hack. Just a legal process and a compliant platform. The Fediverse exists because centralized platforms have owners. Here's what the alternative looks like. #DigitalOrganizing
