Today's walk started at the Mlacak Centre beside Earl of March High School in Kanata, crossed south of the 417 and went around the Katimavik and Hazeldean neighborhoods.

Friday afternoon, I walked from my home near Billings Bridge to St Laurent Mall, via Alta Vista Drive and the Trainyards. Not a bad walk but it did get a little wet.

Friday's walk in Montreal. Shorter than usual and not trying to cover far corners of the city. Started at Metro Laurier, then walked via Avenue Laurier and then Rue Masson and made my way to the area around Olympic Stadium and finished at Metro Viau.

Three hours of walking, round trip and what do you get? Started at Bronson and Carling and walked the west end, including Dow's Lake, Little Italy, the Civic Hospital, Westboro and Hintonburg.

Today's walk was an annual Walking Guy tradition on Labour Day. A walk around Ottawa U campus, as Frosh week is going on and then around Sandy Hill, as students get settled in. As always, tried to cover as much ground as possible, but hard to cover every block of every street.

Saturday afternoon (and into the evening) bike ride around Montreal. Started downtown, went out to the east end (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve), then up to tour Saint-Leonard before heading back downtown. And starting very close to where I ended.

Today's walk was a return to an area I'd been wanting to go back to since 2020. I checked out the Cote d'Azur and Mont-Luc areas of Gatineau, just off Autoroute 50 and Boulevard de La Verendrye. Will likely go back sooner as there are other streets there I'd like to check out.

It was great. Had the pizza ghetti. Portion could’ve been a tad bigger

A trip to Sainte-Julie, QC for my first Normandin restaurant ever, but beforehand a bike ride around the town. Sainte-Julie is a south shore suburban town southeast of Montreal. I made a second map to show where Sainte-Julie is, relative to Montreal.

All right, this was a tough one to draw. Possibly longest bike ride ever but more of an all-day affair with a few breaks to eat and/or change bikes. Started at Du Ruisseau REM station off Henri-Bourassa Ouest in Saint-Laurent, through Laval, Montreal-Nord and the Plateau to finish downtown.

Random walk in Hull tonight, which randomly started at the corner of Richer et Saint-Raymond. Always good to include the Canevas Place Cartier dead mall.

Walked today from a packed Britannia Beach, along the river to Andrew Haydon Park and Dick Bell Park/Nepean Sailing Club, then along Carling North before turning around and going back to Ullswater Avenue.

Saturday's walk in Montreal. Started at De Castelnau Metro (near Saint-Laurent and Jean-Talon), there was a stop to eat at Jack Le Coq on Saint-Viateur, and ended up downtown for an evening at the Montreal Jazz Festival.

First bike ride of the season. Left home towards South Keys. Then over to Blossom Park via Albion and Queensdale. Then down to the Elmvale Acres area via Conroy and St Laurent, before heading home again. These maps get tough to draw at this level of map zoom.

And sometimes I end up doing these walks by necessity and by circumstance. This was this afternoon's walk from Cyrville LRT station to the mechanic's. A real lack of sidewalks but you can find some good shortcuts so you don't have to take the streets.

Nothing I wanted to spend money on or take up space in my home. Always a fun walk nonetheless. Here’s a sampling……

This afternoon's walk from my home down to the Great Glebe Garage Sale. An annual tradition and you never know what cool stuff you'll see. Packed and like last year, the weather wasn't too warm. I posted most of my photos. The rest will be on the Walking Guy Facebook page.

Saturday afternoon's walk around Aylmer, including a visit to the brand new municipal library, which just opened last week, a stop for poutine at a casse-croûte, and the Aylmer Marina, currently underwater.

Today's walk, somewhat an annual tradition, a walk around Sandy Hill and the Ottawa U campus, as the academic year wraps up for many, and many students are moving out, and leaving lots of crap behind.

Saturday afternoon walk. First Montreal walk of 2026. Started at Sherbrooke and Décarie and walked through NDG and Cote des Neiges (with a stop at the Plaza) and finished at the Canora REM station near Jean-Talon and the town of Mount Royal.

Randall and Bank. No left turn. The light doesn’t turn green. Ever. It’s a pedestrian crossing. So what do you do when the car in front of you tries to turn left? And then made a motion to cut your head off because you honked at them and went around them to turn right?

Bank Street, and the bridge going over the Canal near Lansdowne. The photo is a bit outdated but the point stands. I’m pretty sure it’s dangerous and illegal but who can tell me why it’s not a good idea to make a U-turn/3 point turn here? Yet someone did it anyways. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Any followers from Kingston ? Here’s a photo I took while walking in Kingston, on Princess Street, in August 2022. Mansion Bar and Restaurant. Just received word that they are closing for good after 17 years and that tonight is the last night.

A walk which pretty much was my day. Left my home and the ultimate goal was to go to the new Nunna's Hot Chicken, which just opened a week ago, located at Armstrong and Garland, in Hintonburg.

Today's walk was on the shorter side, more quality than quantity. Started in Hull at the sight of the former Arena Robert-Guertin, and made my way to go check out the Winterlude Snowflake Kingdom at Parc Jacques-Cartier.

One of my longer walks in recent memory. Today's walk started at Strathcona Park in Sandy Hill, and covered many east end neighborhoods including Lowertown, New Edinburgh, Manor Park, St Laurent Boulevard and Vanier. For anyone wondering, this walk took about 2.5 hours.

Today's walk started at the Emerald Plaza on Merivale Road, then went around the area, across Baseline, around Erindale and Navaho, then through College Square and Algonquin College before heading back to Merivale.

It's been awhile. But it's just been that kind of winter. Today's walk started at Les Promenades Mall in Gatineau and just me going around some of the nearby neighborhoods. Not one of the long walks I'm used to but I'll do that when it warms up a bit.

This was today's walk, or pretty much my day. Started and ended at home, had lunch, visited the tunnels of Carleton University*, before heading home. *The map does not reflect the various corridors and stairwells that I passed through on campus.

Merry Christmas all. Don’t forget, amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas, to take some timeout and watch some classic Christmas television. Here’s a great selection of classic Christmas television made between 1965 and 2001, courtesy of the good folks at Antenna TV.

Not so much a walk but this was pretty much my day. And I didn't take any photos. Left home, there were stops to use the facilities, stops to eat including the new McDonald's on Main Street, and I also went to Ottawa U and Rideau Centre before walking home up Bank Street.

Tonight was my annual walk to check out the Christmas decorated houses along Taffy Lane in Orleans, starting on St Joseph Boulevard near Place d'Orleans. The bad news, the cold and phone battery made a bad combo and I had to do most of the posting when I got home.

Today's walk started downtown at the National Arts Centre and went on a tour of much of Centretown. Between the early excess snow and cold lately, I haven't the motivation much to go out and do my walks. Glad I was able to get out today for a bit.

Saturday late afternoon train ride on part of the new REM Deux-Montagnes LRT train. I only did the line between Du Ruisseau and Ile Des Soeurs (Nun's Island). I also got off at all the stations shown here, and explored a bit except Montpelier and Canora.

Today's walk went from Casino du Lac Leamy to the Museum of Civilizations in Hull, to check out the Retro Canadian music exhibit. I spent the afternoon at the museum, parking is stupid expensive so I parked free at the casino and walked there. And back a different way after..

First walk in the early snow. Today's walk started off Bank Street near Catherine Street, went up Bank Street to Sparks Street, past the War Memorial, then through the Market, down Murray Street to Lowertown and then over to Ottawa U before making my way back to Centretown.

Today's walk was a long overdue walk of the Merivale/Meadowlands area, starting at Emerald Plaza and visiting Merivale Mall. A long time favorite area of mine to walk in. Apologies if the map looks different than usual, I'm still getting used to Windows 11 and Paint.

This evening's pre-Halloween walk started on Bank Street in the Glebe, did a few streets in The Glebe before crossing Bronson and heading towards Booth, Preston and Little Italy, all to see the Halloween decorations, including some impressive Halloween lawns.

Today's walk was in the east end of Gatineau, starting at the Supermarché Metro on Boulevard Maloney Est and went on a walk of the nearby area, in search of three covered bridges. Unfortunately, some time was lost when I had to backtrack due to an unexpected fence.

Today's walk... inspired by a bus schedule.... Started in the Glebe, went over to the Pretoria Bridge and then down Lees Avenue, a short detour along Mann and Chapel and then took the full length of King Edward down to Rideau Falls before returning the same way.

Third and final walk today. Starting at Convent Glen Mall. A short but sweet off-season walk on Taffy Lane in Orleans, best known for its' over-the-top Christmas lights in December. A walk I do every December.
