Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 07/09/2025I mean, they think we're the same thing, or at least in the same league. Religious transphobes have literally treated me as a possessed person. Not pleasant 091 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/09/2025To be fair, I feel like there are far more people being anti-Newsom than the usual crop. Granted, a good portion of them are liberals (or don't make full leftism their brand). But also Newsom sucks so fuck him. 030 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Gavin Newsom is on right wing podcasts saying that Kamala Harris lost the election because she wasn't able to say that trans people shouldn't get healthcare in prison. Is that not what I think it is? Can you tell me the difference? 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 01/09/2025It's terrifying to me that it is now a fairly common thing among dem politicians to support rolling back. Like, if Democrats are the same on literally some of Trump's worst policies that's a problem. 010 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Yes? Hell, I'll go further. The worst things Trump has done with regards to trans people is restricting HRT access. If I had a guaranteed safe access to HRT I'd live with having a wrong passport. Trump rolling back trans healthcare in prison is horrific to me. Maybe one of his worst policies. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 01/09/2025I advocated and voted for Harris, but her campaign made it harder than it needed to be. I think saying that she fumbled the ball on an issue 10 months after an election is like, maybe the most tame criticism of a politician you can make. 010 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Is posting how you think a politician should handle an issue performative bullshit? I genuinely don't get how comments could be taken that way. 110 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 31/08/2025Successfully defending the point would make the concurrent actions of her campaign look bad. Seemingly the intended defense is a 'She only thought trans people should have rights 4 years ago", but she also doesn't want to vocally oppose trans rights. It's not a position that would please anyone. 170 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 31/08/2025But like, you can only do so much defense as an outsider. You can't make the argument that it is the best and obvious choice if the candidate is very obviously trying to walk it back. The cantidate has to lay the groundwork for people to defend them, instead of hoping some others will just wing it. 180 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 26/08/2025I recommend watching the podcast segment where he talks about trans people because it's pretty bad. He talks about how not being able to push back on trans people in prison receiving healthcare lost her the election which is also really fucking awful. 020 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/08/2025There is only so much you can do. There isn't a good option. You might have plans, but they might not stand up to the demands of 'get into compliance in 24 hours and all your communications related to the situation have to be approved by us'. 010 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/08/2025Could they have? From what I understand about the situation, it's highly likely that Visa/MasterCard came in and immediately slapped a 24/48 hour compliance timeline on them. They also want to vet what you say for PR when dealing with the situation. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 31/07/2025I wonder if it's beating inflation depending on the time scale. Like at least before the recent big inflation stuff it felt like the tip percentage was steadily rising as well. 030 0

Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 02/07/2025Oof, looks like I'm gonna need to wait for a letter to send the form. Is there any way to expedite that? 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/05/2025Yeah, I emailed the governor's office today to see if there would be any update towards what is actually going on with that. Hopefully things happen soon. 010 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/05/2025Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. Back in August the district court ruled it was unconstitutional to require a sex change surgery to change the gender on a birth certificate. However, nothing has changed and when I emailed the people in charge of that back in November they were waiting on the governor. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/05/2025Is there any news about when the court ruling on allowing trans people to change their birth certificates will ever go into effect? 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 19/04/2025It depends, if you've already updated the passport they already know. They currently have the stance that they aren't going to void current passports, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't happen in the future. 020 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025It highly depends where, how, and what is being disrupted, but yeah just shouting at an event is generally protected by the 1st amendment. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025If you want to impose unconstitutional restrictions on free speech to get to an ideal society you want, then you should just admit that. Hell, the current administration also wants to do that. You guys are in power. Congrats. 100 0

Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025People did and this whole thread is you getting upset about it and wanting to take away their right to do so. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025As far as the first amendment goes from what I can tell, disruption is generally limited to meetings of legislative bodies and schooling. Not things like events or a press conference on the steps of city hall. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025They don't allow time, place, and manner restrictions based on the content of speech, which is what you just proposed. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025For example, public colleges are bound by the 1st ammendment. Your proposal is pretty expressly illegal at every public college. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025Are we talking about university rules or government ordinance? Are we treating the university as a government in this example? 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025Any speaker? Are we also going to apply this to loud appluase or cheers agreeing with them? 110 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025Time, place, and manner restrictions are also in theory supposed to be heavy limited. What ordinance would you put in place that would fix your issue but still fall under free speech? 110 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025It just seems prima facie wrong that "students are using their free speech to protest and that upsets me" and "the us government has declared that most people don't have 4th ammendment rights" are comparable. The point is so stupid that it's hard to understand. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025It's not really clear or coherent to compare student protests to most people losing their 4th ammendment rights. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 15/04/2025That's not an area "where the CBP can operate", they can operate anywhere. That's an area where the constitutional protections don't restrict the CBP. Do you think it's not concerning that 2/3 of people have less rights? 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 14/03/2025What part of your screenshot is an example of a thing Micheal was talking about? 140 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/02/2025Isn't this general trend what you'd expect? When you have greater sample numbers, it starts to be steady at the mean. Maybe you could argue the magnitude of the effect is too big, but at that point we would want to see what other elections looked like. 120 0

Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I think it's a good action to change my lifestyle for the better, but it's a fairly involved one and I'm already working on a variety of things to improve my life and live more ethically. Maybe I get to veganism in the future, it's something I believe would be right. 120 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/01/2025This is kind of what I mean though. My common lazy cooking isn't based on using a complicated recipe. It's a general understanding of having a main protein, a grain, and then something extra to throw together a simple meal. I would need to completely relearn how to make a meal. 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I don't really want to eat a lot of frozen food. My girlfriend and I enjoy eating home cooked meals. I'd probably have to relearn my entire basic auto-pilot recipe format. I don't know. I think we all do unethical things every day and one of those for me is eating meat. 010 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 05/01/2025Basically all of my limited enough cooking knowledge for how to assemble a simple tasty meal relies on having meat as an element, when it doesn't it often involves other animal products. That and the lack of easy restraunts when I'm lazy (I do fuck with a vegetatian taco bell tho) 220 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 04/01/2025You're the one who used animals as a basis for morality! 100 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 04/01/2025I don't think I did? I pointed out that your argument applies to worse things we both think are bad. 110 0
Caitlyn @thatthotcait.bsky.social · 04/01/2025Lots of morally repugnant things are done by millions of animals every day. Saying that eating meat must be morally fine because millions of animals do it every day is a bad argument that no one takes seriously in any other context. 110 0
