I've spent two days on and off trying to update my Zooz Z-Wave stick and i've never longed for the death of #zwave as hard as I am right now.

There is nothing more white than cleaning the exterior of your car while there is still snow on the ground.

#Sonos is hilariously out of touch and deserves to be shut down. $3200 price for this amp and the rack mount is EXTRA?!

Another camera install finished. Top patch panel is exterior cameras, bottom is interior.

My weekend projects have arrived. Migrating from my #zooz and #sonoff hubs to #homeassistant hubs. Moving my other hubs to the office so I can start my seed watering automations 😎

Well yes, you do have to drill holes to get wires from outside to inside.

I'm from the Midwest, so I like to do all my outdoor stuff right before it snows. Got three new beds built and I put pickets around my compost bin. The pickets are frozen 😂

#CES2026 was a blast. First time in Las Vegas and first time meeting people i've talked to for years. A fantastic start to 2026.

Spent some time making my pallet compost bins more attractive. I'll put fence pickets around the outside to help blend it in, and cut up pallet boards on the inside of the compost bin to help contain soil. The pallets and boards are heat treated, whereas the fence pickets are pressure treated.

I picked a place to stay for work solely based on the name. Does that make me a #millennial?

As a smart lock nerd, I would agree with this list.

Why are IT companies so dumb? Third party service call to replace a HDD installed an NVR. Replace it but told the guy it’s beeping, so he'll have to login and format it. “I should be able to do that remotely, right?” Bitch I don't know, you're the company in charge?

Spent Christmas morning getting the solar panel installed for the shed. It’s a very cloudy, but warm, day here in #columbusohio. My new #ecoflow battery is pretty great. Whole setup (battery, solar panel, mount, cable) was less than $500. I’ll look into tidying the cable up once I confirm location.

Last service call before Christmas. Received a work order from a third party company to install a new hard drive into an NVR. Customer complains that they can't go back very far in the cameras to look at incidents if they happen.

@davidpierce.xyz I have seen exactly ONE good use of the Apple Vision Pro from a user on reddit. He uses the AVP to retrofit wiring into a house with such precision that it made me consider getting one for my job! His profile is full of these posts and they are great www.reddit.com/r/Constructi...

Sold my #sonos Arc tonight, it’s the end of my decade-long love affair with Sonos. Currently offloading 12+ Sonos products because I cannot deal with the issues anymore. The resale value of these products has shit the bed as well, but luckily I won't lose my ass. My, how the mighty have fallen.

I have a client who's first floor smoke detector always "malfunctions" in the early hours on a Sunday. It can be several months in between incidents and there isn't any noticeable reason it would have issues. We have replaced the device two times already and new batteries.

Trying to use some Matter over Thread motion sensors from Eve but can’t get them working through home assistant. I can add them to HomeKit though. Should I troubleshoot further or stick to Zigbee? 🤷‍♂️
