Unexpected motivation from the Battery Display stand at a Lowe’s checkout today.

This is a hidden message, meant for store employees. It’s black text, on a white cardboard display for Energizer batteries. The stand is mostly empty, save for one box of energizer batteries. Where there should be more batteries, the message reads: “Keep going. Don’t break down. Refill.”

Just wait until you find out about the magic of Average Speed cameras and Toll Lane enforcement cameras, by companies like Blissway, which capture and AI-analyze every car that goes by them, regardless of whether it broke a law or not. That data *definitely* wouldn’t be abused, no way.

Assuming the coronary doesn’t get him first, he’s going to sign a preemptive pardon for everyone who’s helped him ever, and his hand-picked candidate is going to sign one for him if he wins the election. And if he loses the election, on January 5th he’ll resign and have Vance write him a pardon. 🤬

This is one of the few exceptions to the sports stadium funding rule. The Giants/Jets joint venture privately funded the $1.6 billion that the stadium cost, and they lease the land from the state of NJ. No bonds or taxpayer subsidies; they submit a payment in lieu of taxes annually to the borough.

They both did. In a stadium in New Jersey, paid for by the two New York teams that play there (MetLife stadium is a joint venture between the NY Jets and NY Giants). The people of NJ and NY stepped up to host watch parties, and host guests in cafes and bodegas and hotels/rentals all over the metro.

Happy 20th anniversary to @riseagainstmusic.bsky.social’s The Sufferer and the Witness. Easily one of my favorite albums since 2000, and one that’s super fun to play on the drums. Give it a listen; some of the lyrics are incredibly poignant even today. music.apple.com/us/album/the...

There is no reason -- absolutely no reason whatsoever -- for US Military aircraft on non-intercept missions to not be running ADS-B out at all times. It would prevent senseless tragedies and a variety of Near Mid-Air Collisions that have been happening for decades near military bases.

Because God Forbid we require the US military to obey civilian regulations, when flying around civilian airspace, in close proximity to civilian aircraft, during peace time.

That cartridge battery probably doesn’t have too much longer on it; get it replaced! Gold/Silver/Crystal don’t last as long because of the real time clock circuitry that is also powered 24/7 by the cart battery. More info from James here: youtu.be/TufICYfqW4c

Short version: you point after the throw to give yourself a sight/idea on where the stone is going. Then you can call for more (hard) or less (clean) sweeping to adjust the position at the end of the throw. It’s easy to graze the granite of the stone in the act of pointing. It doesn’t affect it.

So, you can carry firearm across state lines to a protest and if you shoot two people Kash Patel will advise you to sue the media and the Biden Administration. If you are in your home state and never draw your gun, and get shot by ICE Kash Patel says its "illegal" to carry a gun to a protest. 🙄

If by "use carbon fiber" you mean "use a Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessel" (In Compressed Hydrogen applications, typically a thin aluminum to contain the hydrogen molecules, and Composite for the pressure), sure. There's never been any issues with those catastrophically failing. Gif Unrelated.

Roadie @thatoneroadie.com · 20/11/2025

Industry Standard pressures for CNG are 3,600 PSI. 10,000 PSI is a different beast, both in terms of tank materials (You can do 3600 PSI Aluminum; you can't do 10k psi Alu), and energy expenditure required to compress to 10k. That's also triple the volume of gas, and energy if suddenly uncontained

130

Roadie @thatoneroadie.com · 20/11/2025

The part that nobody likes to mention about “compressed hydrogen” is that it conjures up these fanciful images of scuba tanks and regular garage compressors. “Compressed hydrogen” needs to be held at 10,000 PSI (700+ Bar) to match the energy density of batteries. In a car crash, that’s a big bomb.

I saw it at the Alamo last week. It was surprisingly good. Long though, with some surprises, but at no point in the 2.5 hours was I sitting there looking at my watch asking when we’d get to the next act. Well written, well acted, well produced.
