Very excited to see the occasional male on the webs, much smaller and less pretty than the ladies. All lost after the whole area was mowed. That was all in the way of neatening up the SANGs, in a very British way.

They have lovely egg sacs about the size and shape of a falafel close to their beautiful webs. The next generation emerges and builds a new web next summer. We had great fun among all their webs trying to spot a mating pair each year.

Was so excited to find local Wasp Spiders here in Surrey Heath. Even feeding on the bees visiting heather on site. They all were killed when the SANGs owners decided to mow all the grass to keep it ‘neat ’. They lost all the places to overwinter their young! Very very frustrating.#spiders #macro🪲
