As you can probably tell by this summary, this scenario was never meant to be taken particularly seriously (the results shown are purely based on vibes alone) - rather, it was just a means of illustrating what sort of power dynamics might emerge from American politics being more proportional.

It really is that time of the year where I not only found myself pondering a scenario where America used Mixed-member Proportional Representation to elect its federal government, but then also actually had time to follow through on it 💀 The rationale for each map is shown in the respective alt texts
