It’s VERY different but still fun? Ages are basically like Pit Stops on The Amazing Race where they do a soft reset of culture, tech, military and trading routes, but you keep your geographic presence. Whoever completes questlines unlocks advantages in the next age. Win conditions unlock in age 3

I don’t know who else needs to hear this (*cough* @kellienalb.bsky.social *cough*) but: Civ7 earlygame seemingly combines Barbarians w/ City-state relations. EVERY C-S is hostile until you use influence points to win them over, so you have to actively choose which geographic front is more important

Interesting to see how there’s 2 live service games, 2 solo experiences, and the go-to Steam Deck docked party game. Don’t think I touched my switch this year, waiting for the Switch2. Astro-Bot was sub 10hr. I think the Xbox and solo RPG couch play got the most time out of me this year
