Honestly not too dissimilar to how a lot of setups handle excess power, just dumping it directly into water heaters and the like. I have something like that for my campervan solar.

Granted not everyone has the experience or ability to do this themselves, but just removing the batteries will bring the costs way down and still provide so much free power at a suprisingly low cost

It’s even cheaper in the UK, You can get 500w panels for around £70. I’ve got just shy of 10kw at the moment, and still plenty of space to effectively double that. For the whole setup it took me 3 days to install on my own and cost me around £4k including batteries, controller etc.

It’s the part I really struggle to understand. I crave learning and trying new things even if they don’t work out. I love creating from scratch even if the result is bad. I can’t relate to people who just have no desire to do any of that.

My parents recently got solar panels installed on their roof, and I am now addicted to checking the app to see what the house draws in versus what the solar panels absorb. Shocking news here, I'm sure, but it turns out solar is a really good source of energy.

I did a self-install with 20kwh of batteries last year and it’s so satisfying to see how long you can go without drawing from the grid. There’s a solid 6 to 8 months of pure solar power through the year. Most of my annual bill is literally the standing charge now.

lmao sometimes feels like tech people are in kindergarten tier English class!!!! We are currently paying *crazy money* for these people to realise something humanities grads understand and can wield expertly for less than the price of this bad software

resonated with me. As someone still experimenting and learning with Al filmmaking, I'm finding that generating something visually impressive is becoming easier, but creating something that actually makes people feel something is the real challenge.

I dont understand how any courier service cant anticipate this. As useless as Yodel/Evri are, at least the packages are still in (presumably) secure vehicles before they maybe arrive near their intended destination and get tossed into bins or dropkicked onto a roof.

Ive been rebuilding my campervan this year, decided to delay installing the stuff to manage heat during hotter weather because it wont be travelling in hot weather til next year. After all, the next trip is planned for the end of September/October. So guess what weather is happening on this trip.

I was never comfortable with using voice commands on my devices. Something about audibly telling a computer to do something was always awkward to me. Nowadays it feels like it should just be common sense. No way are these commands not being used to further train AI and track you through voice alone
