![Jungkook got up from his seat on the subway. He wasn’t quite awake yet, and he might have preferred to sit longer, but there was an older woman who had just gotten on and Jungkook’s mother had raised him with very serious opinions on this point.
He used his body to block a clear path for her so she could get to the seat without one of the salarymen around them taking it from her. “Here, [halmeoni-nim].”
She nodded at him, very rigid and proper as she sat down. Jungkook grabbed onto the bar overhead so he could hold on, but one of the businessmen must have been too busy catching up on his email, because when the subway started moving he lost his balance and tipped into Jungkook.

It was different late at night, when it was quiet and he could marvel at the engineering that whisked him under the city’s busy streets, but when it was crowded, with thoughtless men wearing too much [shitty] cologne, he wished he could be taking his motorcycle to the station.

For the first thing, he wasn’t senior enough to have a parking spot, and for the second, he wasn’t prepared for the kind of teasing that would come up if some of his fellow officers learned he had a motorcycle. But most of all, when he thought about taking his motorcycle to work, he worried that he might drive past the station and just keep driving.

![Hongjoong got off the subway to walk to his shop on Saturday morning at the same time he always did. Or, if he was being perfectly honest with himself, it might have been a few minutes late. He’d found that unlike weekdays, when he picked up customers looking for coffee or a treat on the way to work, his weekend customers came in a little later. When he’d first started, he’d opened right on time anyway, but he had to admit that he’d gotten a little lax on weekends, not wanting to be alone in the shop so early.
There was a line down the block as he approach the street where his shop was. It was mostly young women, standing in small groups and chatting with each other, and he wondered what sort of event in his neighborhood he’d missed. The opening of some trendy new place, maybe, although none of the stores near him had been empty, and he hadn’t seen any signs for a cool popup.
He turned the corner and found that the line went with him, and a few more steps down the block, he realized that the line was for /him/. It neatly ended at his front door, like all these people were waiting to get into /his shop/.
“Are you in the right place?” he asked the woman in front. She looked to be in her mid thirties, maybe, not like the kind of teenager he would expect to be up early for a trend.
“Yes, [respectful name],” she said.

The room had already heard about the credentials of the directors for the three proposed projects, the likely viewing figures given the various networks and distributors, and assessments of any other cast already signed on. Not to mention, of course, the potential for tie-in merchandising or other promotional options.
All those options having been considered, they were now ready to hear Yunho's opinion.
"I think the overseas setting of the first would be really fresh and allow me to show a different side of myself," he said. "And of course, [director], on the second, has done so much great work and l'd love to work with her." He paused. "But, I was wondering - these roles all seem so similar to what I've been doing. Before, we said - anyway, I was wondering if there was any possibility of doing something a little different. A villain, maybe, or an antihero."

The promotional partners. Of course. Yunho knew that was where the bulk of his income came from, and obviously that would matter to his agency.
He couldn't even say they were wrong. He was successful now, but he knew that never lasted. Sooner or later, someone else would be the hot young thing, and then he'd be grateful to be offered any choices in roles at all.
"Then the first one would be my preference, but any of these would be great," he said, appropriately chastened. Yunho nodded from the back, where he had the seat reclined as far as it would go and a blanket stretched out over his legs. He was too tall to really be able to stretch out, but this way he could pretend.

His manager shrugged. “You don’t have time anyway. We’re going to Japan tomorrow, and then you have that ad shoot when you get back. Gayo’s the day after that.”
Yunho nodded again. He would have liked to have more time to rehearse than that, especially if [costar] wanted it - and form working with her on three projects, he suspected she did - but [manager] was right: he didn’t have time.
