Also, there are new Frozen particle effects that the player gets when hit by an Ice Ball as seen in the images below. Pretty cool detail! ❄️

A player emits particles of frozen snowflakes, an example of the new Frozen particle effects which occur after a Minecraft player is hit by an Ice Ball. These will first be seen in the Winter Drop near the end of the year.

Another example of Frozen snowflake particles from being hit by a Ice Ball.

New Sift Dimension is wild! Very excited to see what it will bring to Minecraft next year. Also very glad the Winter Drop later this year will bring a bit more dynamism to the underground!

The new dimension announced today for Java and Bedrock editions at Minecraft Live 2026 as seen in Minecraft Dungeons II. Featuring the ancient city portal leading to a new dimension of color and mystique.

Made a rule change for the Hermit Grove Golf Club. Now any trident can be used on any block (except for green blocks and tees). This should make it slightly less punishing to hit from hazards and simplifies the game a lot. Should be a much more enjoyable experience while maintaining the core game.
