Paleontology masters student at CSUF, looking to work in collections. I love all things osteology, taxidermy, and I have a particular love for birds of prey, especially vultures! Opinions are my own

More Boyd Deep Canyon pics

Desert iguana held by someone. She (the lizard) seems to have accepted her capture with grace

Red spotted toad (the toad, funny enough, lacks spots)

Baby side blotched lizard, the size of a fingernail. It is being held gently

I lowkey forgot about this app Here's me on a herping trip with my class (and a female Dipsosaurus dorsalis special guest) It was fun but I /hate/ the heat 😭

Young man with round glasses holding a desert iguana. He looks elated to be holding the lizard, but you can see a glint of misery from being in the desert heat

I tried the concrete enrichment thing for Hex and she's obsessed with it, she's been using it as a pillow for her naps 😭

One of my favorite things at @tarpits.bsky.social is how next to many of the tar seeps, you will find a stick with a black tip. The most human of instincts: to poke things with a stick I love it

Can't post pictures, but yesterday I got to attend a necropsy training with a local marine mammal group! Super excited to start working with them, and helping out with their educational collections (Sheephead found in a tank outside)

I'm still rusty, but I made this a couple days ago! Hoping to finish that fox that's been sitting in my freezer soon

Today I got to play my favorite game: Bone Detective! Today was the bird edition. I was able to identify two specimens based on their sternums. (one was Anatidae, one was Galliformes) This one was much more difficult, but based on some features on the humerus, my guess was Pelicaniformes!
