Worker, ally, son of a truck driver, socialist, white boy, one of those Midwestern Civil War and WWII history enjoyers who became a labor history enjoyer after reading Howard Zinn when he was like 23.

Meh.

No thanks. I’m pretty comfortable letting go of Star Wars as a “franchise” worthy of caring about. The originals exist, the prequels exist, they’re worth rewatching and enjoyable on their own terms. That’s enough.

He’s a lap-dog. The actual rulers are in the 1/10th of 1%, true power is capital itself and it must be socialized or we go extinct.

The “ruling class” is the oligopoly of corporate cartels and its leaders multi-billionaire plutocrats, who ultimately serve the interests of capital (“god”). Brooks is just a priest of capital.

It didn’t get that way apropos of nothing. There’s this thing called history that happened, it’s been going on for a few decades now, and both the nationalist side and the internationalist side of the corporate plutocracy are complicit.

All you have is ego. Keep defending a party that supports genocide and covers for child sex trafficking, it’s such a great look.

Yes I am.

More ego-brain nonsense. You’re not a real person, you’re a fucking mortgage in a meat-suit. You don’t care about any of this, you just want someone to blame and appear like a good person while keeping your treats that are afforded by the rivers of blood spilled by empire. Take responsibility.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
I’m not projecting anything because I don’t have guilt to sublimate onto an “other” to blame like you neurotic middle class ghouls with your rituals of media spectacle called national elections. I’m not complicit in empire, I don’t have buy-in to or sunk in the status quo, I don’t need to deflect.

I am going to dismiss the AI out of hand, not even reading that. And I’m the one not using my brain? Irony.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
You’re right. The Democrats totally didn’t give Republicans everything they wanted in the 90’s, pushing the party further to the right to distinguish themselves. “Third Way” tactics aren’t a historical fact, and the ACA wasn’t written by the Heritage Foundation that is behind today’s ICE. Nope.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
I’m correct. Your ego-brain bullshit doesn’t change that, and personal anecdotes are not arguments of anything. My criticisms are of a feckless political party whose leadership is fully aware of and involved in the Epstein list. Apparently that’s ok with you? And I’m the weird one?

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
Maybe, maybe not. Can’t prove it one way or the other. That alternate reality lives in your head alone. Biden did nothing about the Epstein list he was fully aware of, he did nothing to prevent Trump from re-gaining power, and Kamala would have done the same, only delaying Trump or worse until 28.
000
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
So sure, if Kamala had won this shit might not have happened, but she’d have done nothing about the child trafficking rapists or prevented another Trump from gaining power, and we’d be right back where we are with a worse Trump.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
The fantasy of an alternate reality in your head can’t be refuted, so it’s irrelevant. The Democrats and Republicans are tidally locked and mutually reinforcing of each other, each reproduces the other, and the Dems drive the Repubs further right with their “third way” triangulating bullshit.

Economies are everywhere and always state projects of a society’s ruling class. The real power is an oligopoly of corporate cartels who own the economy, most of the land, the major parties, and the apparatus of the state. Like, do you really think Trump is the one with power? Foolish.
100
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
Yes, sublimate the guilt from your complicity in empire and disavow all responsibly, project that guilt onto an “other” that you can blame for all your problems. You’re definitely not just a mirror of the MAGA choads. The Dems are actually above reproach, they’ve never done anything wrong. 😑

No singularities? Black holes. All else is dialectical relationships, objectively.

Exactly, all things are relationships. Thank you for conceding.

The tribal kin-group came first, the relations of dependence and attachment and connection came first, then they went out into the world and acquired values from nature, and through coordination and social practice increased and transformed those values into shared communal sustenance.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 24/03/2026
No one survived *period* absent a dependence on other people. A babe in the woods would die within days if not hours. It is emotional and sympathetic attachment, the rearing and nursing, the protection and mentorship, which formed them into a member in an interdependent matrix of relationships.

Those things are transmitted from the past and inherited by all of us, and imagination and language and symbolism is the hive-mind of the species which informs and shapes and gives context to the social relationships we move through and embody and from which we interact and relate.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 24/03/2026
No human exists or can be understood in isolation, and is everywhere bodily embedded in a social framework and is culturally enmeshed in a cultural context which shapes them. You did not invent the language you think in, you did not invent the symbols you use to build a narrative of understanding.
110
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 24/03/2026
No. Human relationships come first. You began in the hearth and were brought into the world by a mother who willingly walked toward the veil to bear and birth you, and a community of people, a society, spent years investing in your formation and socialization.

A stable social order in a dynamic homeostasis with the environment is one where everyone is a *little bit* in debt to everybody else.
000
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 24/03/2026
No. They organized themselves like all human societies, dynamic interpersonal and social *relationships*. In many pre-modern, pre-systematized societies it was considered quite rude and a faux pas to pay-off a debt to a peer-neighbor because it presumed a closing-ending of the relationship.

And the root of evil is a denial of one’s mortality, so people escape into the mind and imagine themselves eternally permanent, and to prove it to themselves they prove the opposite in those weaker than they and hasten their deaths. Money is just a symbol, not the thing the symbol is pointing to.
010
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 24/03/2026
Barter did not precede money. There is no evidence that a society anywhere organized itself by barter. Credit preceded money, barter emerged when pre-existing money systems collapse or break-down.

I’m of the mind that “hope” and “faith” in a not-strictly religious sense are necessary for a positive “apocalypsis” of social transformation that must be sustained and sustaining. The negative “apocalypsis” of Calvinist bourgeois liberalism produces death cults, we need “midwives of revolution”.

Economies are state projects of a society’s ruling class, and in the US that is an oligopoly of corporate cartels. There are no human decisions being made here anymore, everything and everyone is chasing the algorithm to make line go up.

ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 12/03/2026
I can’t tell if you’re being sincere or not. Likely not sincere. Just another thought-terminating response to either deny or disavow guilt. Are you a con or lib?
000
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 12/03/2026
You don’t live in reality, you live in a kayfabe media spectacle for the sublimation of the guilt you feel for the rivers of blood that afford you your relative privileges and treats, but you can’t be honest so you disavow that guilt through bogus elections to project it onto an “other” to blame.

That just sounds like the state giving landlords and companies money. Public housing, public utilities, public farms and grocery stores. There’s no reason to have private corporations profiteering on human necessities.

Our so called “founding fathers” were human trafficking rapists. That is an objective fact you don’t get to argue against or hand wave away. They trafficked people, they tortured people, they raped people. Objectively evil freaks by any reasonable moral standard not blinded by a cult of personality.

I really wish people would stop sublimating what is a deeply American practice of cruelty and depravity. This is good ole fashioned Americanism. Fucking own it or do something about it. Don’t lie and blame a defeated enemy from a century ago. This is what this country has always been.

What democracy? We’re an oligarchic republic, have been from the start. The oligarchs who lord over the oligopoly of corporate cartels that owns the industrial economy, most of the land, and the apparatus of the state are the constituents. Corporate personhood laws and Citizens United proves this.

You should support public housing if you want property taxes to go down.
000
ThatBoyOverYonder @thatboyoveryonder.bsky.social · 11/03/2026
You might be interested in how they do public housing in Vienna. The average renter is only paying like ~25% of their income on rents, rather than the 50-60+% here. And rather than their rents paying some guy’s mortgage for him, it funds local services and reduces property taxes.
