Take some time this #MemorialDay #holiday to remember those who've #sacrified, but also do it every day. I saw an old photo from #WW2 that had a battlefield tribute for a #fallensoldier. I wanted to work that theme into one of my #paintings. #oilpainting #art #tribute

I came across this picture of our dog. Lost back in 2013 and she was a #gentle and #loving soul. Such a sweetheart. I wanted to #paint her picture so we can see her in a beautiful moment. #art #oilpainting #dogart #petart #love #boxer #love #rainbowbridge

A #tribute for a sweet boy who passed too young. For a friend as a #memorial. It was challenging, yet rewarding to #paint. #painting #art #oilpainting #dogart

In light of the dumpster fire that is our nation at the moment, here's a #painting of a #dog for a diversion. I wanted to send a thank you gift to someone who has been helping out the family as we moved our aging #dad to a new home. #art #oilpainting #dogart #dogpainting #thankyou #pet

#Memories seem to be fleeting and short. In light of recent events, I think it's good to also remember #MelissaHortman, #MarkHortman and #Gilbert. #Tragedy is universal, not only when it fits any a preconceived narrative. #RIP to all taken before their time.

A long time ago, our family visited the #USAF museum in Dayton, HO. I bought a book at the #P-38Lightning, and devoured it before the end of our vacation. One of my favorites, and finished this 12 x 16 wood panel. #WorldWar2 #ww2 #art #painting #aviationart #airplane

I wanted to surprise a co-worker with a #painting of a #sail boat. He and the family enjoy sailing, and used an existing painting as a reference and for practice. If I was a professional I'd not do this, but as an amateur, I need some practice. #art #painting #oilpainting #sailboat #seaart

A 12 x 16 #portrait of a #dog. The picture I used didn't have the full legs or body. For good or bad, I decided to just focus on the face. I keep tinkering with it, but at this point, for good or bad, it's done. #art #painting #oilpainting #petart #dogart

A test piece. Sometimes you have a canvas/panel laying around, and you just want to do something with it so it stops mocking you for never using it. :) This is a 10 x 10 on a wood panel. #Sea #Painting #Art #OilPainting #OilStudy #beachart #tree

With a picture as cute as this one, I had to make an attempt an a #painting. In retrospect, a white/blond dog has a bit more shading in there. I went light first, and was trying to get that it. Lesson learned for future subjects. #dog #dogpainting #oilpainting #dogart #art

An #oilpainting of beloved #dog of a friend at work. A bit more impressionistic than the picture I used for reference. It was well received and it found a great home. Probably should have added a shadow. Always learning. Making these for people is such a rewarding feeling. #dogpainting #art #pets

I love the look of just a subject on a wood background. In the original photo, this #F4Phantom was making a high speed, low level flyby. Experimenting with clear gesso. One of the great #aircraft designs, the #phantom was the main fighter in the #VietnamWar. #art #painting #oilpainting #aviationart
