Laura Dronen, the Communication and Digital Director of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party, has announced her candidacy for the North Dakota State House in District 21. Dronen, a Fargo native and former staffer for Senator Heidi Heitkamp, pledges to focus on fully funding public schools, lowering costs for families, and monitoring the impact of data centers and AI in local communities.

The Coloradan was the only American Indian in the Senate during his tenure and helped lead the effort to build the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington.
