#TeztunesMonthofMusic Day 10: A song that you discovered in a movie or TV show Doesn’t really happen for me (apart from music shows). But there’s occasionally a good opening credit song, so I’ll pick ‘Bad Things’ by Jace Everett… youtu.be/5CV4eGS7H5I?...

Another good week for #NewMusic - could easily have gone for NBT, one of my favourite bands, and also liked Keo, Julia Jacklin & Europe, but my #AlbumoftheWeek for last week was Gurriers

What was your predicted top 5 in #5DebutAlbumsFinal again, Terry? 😎

*which will be Stone Roses, Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Television, REM

Terry Beech @tezzabell.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Yep, so far I’ve got 50-odd albums on my shortlist to whittle down, so if Mr Shaw could clear his diary for the 2 weeks I’m off, and open voting NY day, that’d be much appreciated 😉

My #5DebutAlbumsFinal 5pts: Tears For Fears - The Hurting 4pts: Marillion - Script For A Jester’s Tear 3pts: Kate Bush - The Kick Inside 2pts: The Sundays - Reading, Writing and Arithmetic +1pt: Portishead - Dummy

Terry Beech @tezzabell.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Two albums that would have made my top 5 a top 7 (so the fact they didn’t make it makes my life simpler)… Leftism, by Leftfield, which missed out on the final by 1 point, and I only gave it 4pts, so it’s my own fault. And UB40’s Signing Off, which just failed to reach the semis…

My top 2 are both from ’83 so I’d like to agree… Hard to know whether that’s just because there’s lots of old men voting, though 😅

Haven’t posted any #NewMusic I’ve liked for a month or so, so here’s half a dozen recent albums worth a listen…

DMA’s: DMA’s
Everything’s Falling: The Warning
Something Real: The Guest List
The Fatal Flaw: Paris Paloma

I decided March 2020 to make a point of listening to new album releases (due to a sudden drop off in social engagements) and that’s still going - got at least 17 contenders for #5Albums26 so far 😉 Might have to do #5AlbumsA, #5AlbumsB… #5AlbumsZ to keep myself sane…

Terry Beech @tezzabell.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Before the semis, picked my shortlist for the #5DebutAlbumsFinal - five got through, so I suppose I just have to decide what order now… 🤗 None will trouble the top 5 in the vote*, mind… [*which will be Stone Roses, Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Television, REM]

Kate Bush, Tears For Fears, Marillion,
The Sundays, Portishead, Leftfield

Yes, I have 9 possibles, including a few currently injured: Jaroš, Davies, Bradley, Chambers, Gomez, Bajçetić, McConnell, Jones, Elliott. Would love to see Stefan on the pitch before we abandon hope…

Terry Beech @tezzabell.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

Exactly what I’ve been boring folk with but better articulated! Both sides FB, CB & 2 wingers*, plus a versatile CF e.g. Ferran Torres, who was a reasonably priced CF before Sunday! (*Muñoz now one of them) And midfield might be fine when you fix what’s behind and in front…

I believe Mr Blunderball is correct wrt Premier League, but Jérémy would have to be non-HG on our A list to play Champions League as he won’t meet B list criteria
