In it, several Mad-Men 60s suit wearing dorks with overly brill-creme hairstyles stand around investigating various pieces of equipment that presumeably they are learning about to sell. In the background are several colourful charts such as a pie-chart titled "Use of Time!", where a typical sales person's 24 hr day is broken down into sleep, sales research, calling prospects and other activities. Even back then in 1961 they knew about work life balance because at the bottom of the pie chart is "Work to Live? or Live to work?"

The other chart is titled "The Elusive Miss AIDA", where AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action (in today's sales world D is Decision), but the core concept is the same: get their attention.. make them interested... get them to WANT it (or coerce them into making a decision.. that they want it) and then smoothing the way for action.. which is I guess where they pay you lots abunch of money.

Ok, Im using a form from the finance department and frankly I expected better Excel-fu from the accountants. This made me physically recoil from the computer:

In most other contexts, a checkbox would be clickable, changing state between [x]checked and [ ] unchecked.

Here, the value of the checkbox... state? is X or x, and is selected via a dropbown. In the dropdown, "no value" is not represented at all.. only `X` and `x`. To "uncheck" the box you have to put the cursor in that field and press delete.

I'm trying to type the word `part.revision` in our wiki because this is a database field I'm trying to document. It keeps #autocorrect ing this to `part. Revision` because it thinks I'm actually starting a new sentence and am too stupid to add the space and capitalize the first word.

And they're heavy enough that it would take several soldiers to move by hand, which would be difficult enough, especially hard if under fire.

More #enshittification .. . #youtube won't let you watch #videos at other playback speeds without paying for Youtube Premium. Like, I don't know how you can speedrun the ruination of a platform any faster.

The Settings > Playback speed option on a Youtube video. "Normal" is selected and there are no other options save for "4" with a red "P" next to it, which when selected pops up prompting you to pay for Youtube Premium.

American Robot Gothic attempt 1: its a farm house ok. The two robots look like the one from Lost In Space a bit, all metallic.
There's some humanoid wearing a sunhat in the background; is he their master? Is he enslaved? Is he a Solaran from Asimov's Robot/Foundation novels and his mutant telekenesis is how the Robots are powered?

American Robot Gothic #2 - a farmhouse (ok) but against a backdrop of oil derricks (fitting) with two Iron Giant style monstrosities who look like they're ready to stomp the house for being woke. What looks like an Edsel is in the driveway. Some weird abstract porch chairs sit... err float.. disjointedly on the porch. The Iron couple's robot progeny play "RoboCops and Humans" on one side of the porch. The light is that of dusk, about the time that the street lights would come on and all good robot children would be shuffled inside to oil their gears before bedtime, possibly to stay up and watch 60 Microseconds with Mike Wallacebot 3000 if they were well behaved.
Just kidding, robots can see in the dark with their infravision sensors and therefore do not need street lights.

American Robot Gothic attempt #3: farmhouse check. Someone is burning insurance papers in the basement furnace as black smoke eminates from the chimney.. and also from the old style TV antennae for some reason. There are two "tin can man" style robots with red eyes and antennae ears in the foreground with exposed hoses and articulations at joints, but they're not standing side by side and neither has a pitchfork.

The SPirit of St. Lois flies in the sky along with... Skylab?! for some reason. More robot progeny are playing Human Speakeasy on the porch (they're all dressed like women in 1920s apparel for some reason).
The lattice work under the porch looks like sponge candy for some reason, now Im hungry.
