I was going 23 in a 25, in my neighborhood, on my way home from the ER where my dad was. A woman yelled, “ASSHOLE!” at me as I drove past, then crossed the street mid-block in my wake. It shook me from a daze I didn’t realize I was in, as I realized she was yelling at me.

Assuming a standard 18-gallon tank (typical for a '74 Dart), 16 mpg ≈ 288 miles per tank. 2,798 miles from El Segundo to Brooklyn ÷ 288 miles/tank ≈ 9.7 - at least 9 stops for gas. How'd he not realize he'd lost his wallet, let alone pay for the gas? I'm telling you it just doesn't add up.
