Wish I could but I'm no longer in the UK. Well, I do miss the free thyroid medication for my hypothyroidism though thanks to the NHS, good times 👍

Phew ... hi Carl 👋 Just spent the past 2 hours following back, so my allocated 🦋 time is over, and all that's left is to wish you a relaxing Sunday evening 😊 Is it true that Japan's currently experiencing a heat wave? Saw it mentioned in the German news 🤷‍♀️ How are you holding up? Do you A/C there?

Sunday's a great day to explore @carlchri.bsky.social 's new Starter Pack! As always, it contains an interesting combo of #democracy lovers, myself included, LOL. TY Carl! 💙💙👋 Check them out 🔎, follow ✅, and repost ♻️. Oh, and have a lovely Sunday! ☀️💙 go.bsky.app/N3PwS8p

Haha, OK, TY in advance for adding me to your new SP! 🙏 I'll have to give it proper attention tomorrow 😊 You see, the weekends are for cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, taking the trash out, & maybe, just maybe, for socializing with people IRL. I'm running out of excuses why I can't meet them 😂💙

Yo, Carl, what's up! How was the workout! Just a quickie message to say 'hi' 👋 I need to use Sat/Sun to prepare for work next week, which means I gotta stay away from 🦋 to avoid spending hrs here. This is why I don't play video games! Everythg quickly becomes excessive & compulsive, so annoying 🤷‍♀️ 💙

More and more institutions apparently seem to cave to a mental health patient allowed to roam free and terrorize the globe. The Smithsonian has removed tRump from its impeachment exhibit. And so the jolly dismantling of a once great nation continues ... what's next? www.youtube.com/watch?v=toRg...

Isn't AZ a weird place to work in film? Obviously, I have no idea and thought, it's either happening in L.A. or maybe even NYC? Thanks for the link, I'm sure to check it out! So, who's your daughter? I don't see anybody with the same last name - is it Sophia N. Rubin?

Does he actually need people that lie to him or to the public?

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

I don't think it's a good transcription on the website. To me (as a native speaker), the lyrics from Genius made much more sense. In any event: 'Jefferson Airplane get an A' for effort! 👍 genius.com/Jefferson-ai...

Jefferson Airplane – Never Argue with a German If You’re Tired or European Song

[Verse 1] / Sticken in mein hachen / Sticken in mein haut / Fügen mein glass mit mein auspucken / Sprechen sie nicht mit einem Deutschen wenn sie müden sind / Mein Auto fährt sehr

Only one criminal comes to mind, and that's 'Teflon Don' 😠

020

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Wow, the song really is in some weird German - perhaps it's all they remembered from school?

010

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

But back to that lost opportunity ... I can imagine that hurts - but, I betcha the moment you land a big role, this will just be a faint memory. 🤞

LOL, I probably meant nerves of steel. 😂 🤦 English isn't my first language, sometimes I mash two different expressions into one. What usually goes with teflon?

This is funny, they were probably tripping 😁🤣 Just to clarify: never argue in English or in German with a German? I think I now want to read the lyrics ...

That tracks 'cause White Collar & Suits both aired on USA Network, so that's the connection. Strangely, USA doesn't do (m)any scripted shows anymore, so consider me surprised when they picked up 'Resident Alien' after Syfy canceled it. If you don't know this show, you must see it, it's super funny!

120

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Oh shit, that sucks ☹️ You must have nerves like teflon and an unshakeable belief in yourself, 'cause I would imagine you have to deal with a lot of rejection! I couldn't handle it. When I send out one application and it gets rejected, I need a month to get over it 😂

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Really?! It was this long-awaited spin-off and ran between Feb. and May on NBC. The only actor from the OG show who popped up there was Rick Hoffman - I think.

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Yes! HBO had many fantastic AND 1-worded TV shows, i.e. Carnivale, Deadwood, Succession, Chernobyl, Entourage ...

010

Connie Kolb @teutonica.bsky.social · 01/08/2025

Did you watch Suits L.A.? I didn't really get into it. I think it's already been canceled after its first season, not sure 🤔
