A screenshot of a shop listing for a plush of the Pokemon character Decidueye, a bird with tree-like coloring and feathers in the shape of a hood covering part of its face and beak. Its eyes peek out and give a half-lidded sultry look to the camera.

lrs read that article and fascinated by this little bit about 'people say they want to know if it's AI but then react badly when they know it is' just sounds like people want to know bc they dont want it ?
What really interests Cian, who has published research exploring how audiences tend to have less trust in media outlets that are transparent about their AI use, is the fact that the Post disclosed its use of algorithmic pricing at all. “If you ask people [whether they] want transparency on what’s behind your pricing strategy, people say ‘yes,'” he says. “But what we found in my research is a paradox, in the sense that people think that they want to know, but once they know, the reaction is worse than not knowing.”

hi i'm extremely rusty when it comes to fic writing but this concept was speaking to me like the green goblin mask so i had to do Something about it, i hope it lives up to your vision (any medical inaccuracies are bc it's been a few years since i last did shots) (also obvious cw for talk of needles)
At this point, they've got it down to a routine. Alcohol wipes, bandages, three syringes (an extra, just in case, again), two small vials, and a handful of needles all make their way onto Dimitri's bedside table. Sometimes they'll set up in Dimitri's bathroom, but it's cramped and the tile is cold and Felix loves to complain. Pants come off, they wash their hands, and it's time to get down to business. Barely a word passes between them the entire time.

Dimitri's the slow one, taking his time peeling open the back of the 21 gauge needle and twisting it onto the syringe while Felix hits the self-healing cap of the first vial with rubbing alcohol. Dimitri draws up .3ml, taps away the air bubbles. Felix shifts his thigh.

Swapping needles to a 27G, Dimitri's hand moves to Felix's leg. He squeezes, pinching Felix's skin between his fingers. There's still a hint of coolness where they touch, for a moment, from the evaporation of the alcohol.

Dimitri angles the needle. He tries to be quick.

Felix huffs a breath as skin breaks. He watches as Dimitri depresses the plunger, slow enough that there's no pressure buildup behind the cap. He once pushed too hard and the needle and syringe separated, and Felix berated him for wasting the medication that splattered all over his leg. A small drop of blood wells up when Dimitri pulls the needle from Felix's leg, mixing with a bit of the testosterone serum as it leaks from the pinprick wound. Dimitri lets out a breath.
Felix is devastatingly efficient in comparison to Dimitri's caution, already drawing up by the time Dimitri has a bandage affixed to Felix's leg.

Dimitri leans back, pulls back the leg of his boxers, wipes his skin down with alcohol, and waits for the needle to penetrate his skin. It's not particularly painful, the quick jab Felix administers, but Dimitri flinches the smallest bit with every touch. Felix huffs out half a snort at his antics, after years of doing this every damn week.

They both watch .4ml of translucent yellow fluid disappear into Dimitri's skin.

Felix lets go of the syringe once he finishes the injection to grab a bandage. It hangs from Dimitri's leg for a moment before it's gone entirely, replaced by a little blue bandage. The gauze pad darkens over the next minute, soaking up the excess fluid as Felix starts tucking everything away again.

Small bits of wrappers become confetti at the bottom of Dimitri's trash can. The needles are carefully removed from from their syringes and tossed in the sharps box under his bathroom sink. Dimitri watches Felix flit about putting everything away. "How long until it hits?" Felix asks, finally stilling in the gap between Dimitri's knees.

Dimitri shifts on the bed, fingers still toying with the edge of his boxers.

"An hour or so," Dimitri figures. Felix should know by now, however many years they've been doing this, how soon the rush will hit him.

Felix pushes him onto his back, trying to hide the smirk threatening to show on his lips. He climbs into Dimitri's lap, earning a hiss when his knee bumps into Dimitri's thigh and jostles the injection site.

"I suppose we should be ready, then," Felix decides as Dimitri's hands reach for his thighs.
