Amazing how the climate-skeptics are tying themselves up in knots over the Nepal disaster. Here the Telegraph uses the weasel term ‘changing climate’ because it can’t bring itself to use the correct terminology. What possibly could be causing temp changes that undermine Himalayan glaciers?

A rather amusing self-own by the Viscount Ridley (he of the extraneous o according to colleagues). The self sealing ‘logic’ of conspiracy theories requires that their promoters double down in the face of all evidence to the contrary.

Richard Ebright: Pride of Rutgers. Abusive, misogynist, cheerleader and unofficial advisor for MAHA and the destruction of US public health, scientifically illiterate peddler of falsehoods about the origin of COVID….and now a celebrator of suicide.

Awful. And sadly predictable. Irrespective of his apparent behavior, he has been hounded to his death by a merciless press, with horrid racist overtones in some quarters. And Cambridge has failed both in their hiring procedures and in their duty of care. A plague on all their houses

Torygraph here with a backhanded acknowledgement that despite what they want to believe, small boats crossings are down…..and missing a key point. Larger boats are easier to detect and stop.

I’ve read some great books this year, but this is probably the most moving and profound. And unfortunately probably more relevant now in the Western World that it has been at any time since its publication in 1946.

Even the Telegraph’s resident Catholic fundamentalist now gets it. But where is the column from their self-appointed arbiter of all scientific knowledge, climate change denialist and (bizarrely) coal mining magnate Viscount Matt Ridley?

Not only did they ‘admit they couldn’t rule it out’ they actually explicitly wrote that in a published paper entitled….er… ‘The Proximal Origin of SARS CoV-2’. Unfortunately for Rand Paul, 5 years worth of subsequent research has ruled it out.

Well done Belgium. The US team looked embarrassed to be there and their keeper had a shocker. Everything Trump touches dies.

Yep, it’s bright green. And smells. Except for the top 10% by the Lincoln memorial where 10 guys are desperately vacuuming up the algae. Amd when they’re done they will have to start again. $20M well spent

Daniel’s argument that Desert Island Discs interviewing a Nazi sympathizer 37 ya means that they should platform someone who spent his formative years idolizing Hitler and abusing Jewish schoolmates, and allies himself with protofascistic leaders around the world, is not as strong as he thinks it is

And this is news because….we can put an unflattering picture of the ‘scummy working class lefty’ in the Telegraph to scare the readers Meanwhile Nigel Farage is on 40 B&H a day- unfortunately with none of the serious health effects yet manifest. It is true that hatred is the best preservative.

TACO say is Wednesday this week. basically Xi Jinping told him that Chinese tankers would run his blockade and what was he going to do about it. They have naval assets in Djibouti and own a fuckload of US debt. Did he want to play chicken.

And now we have the Israeli government explicitly indicating they will target civilians and civilian infrastructure…you know, the people who are supposed to rise up and overthrow the Ayatollahs. Be very careful which countries some of them pass through- one way ticket to The Hague for war crimes.

Given that the Telegraph has dispatched chief anti-science conspiracist editor Sarah Knapton to Cape Canaveral, it’s a wonder they aren’t reporting that the new moon mission is being faked like the last ones were.

I knew it! Rutgers’s own abusive conspiracy loon and Gungan chieftain is part of the Covid origins conspiracy. Of course Jim Haslam is mad, but at this point his theories are no more stupid than those promoted by Alina Chan, Matt Ridley and the DRASTICs…..and the toad Ebright himself.

This fig still impresses me. The red is spike evolution in one person over 500days from a wave 1 infection in April 2020. The black tree below is the branch from wave 1 to omicron BA1. The branch lengths are v similar implying the entire evolution of a VoC can happen in one immunocomp host

Interesting that the UK’s volkisch press hasn’t covered Iran at all but finds time to bash the BBC for its coverage that is the leading story on their sites. Plus how do expect any media to cover anything in depth when we have a protofascist mafioso flooding the zone with destabilizing nonsense?
