Heh. I gave my Nidoking "Focus Band" to have him survive a deadly attack, and then the Rocket began freaking out about the assured one-hit victory. That allowed Nidoking to singlehandedly demolish the 6 opponents. Rocket gave up one of them, and I took the Level 60 Mewtwo YOINKTHANKYOUVERYMUCHSIR

In the Gen1ReComp, the league champion Nidoking named A is joined by a Team Rocket raised Mewtwo, thanks to a focus band and some flinching computer guessing.

While jaded Gura appeared to be resigned, a final act forward revealed the door behind her; her goal the entire time. She did not lose that goal, and as jaded Gura and young Gura merge into a whole, that door remains while the foundational rocks are gone. It is simply jaded Gura, the open water, her feet barely submerged, and the door.

Jaded Gura is depicted in the fourth image as aligned just at the edge of the left blue rabatment fifth, but the door is not on the edge of the right blue rabatment fifth; instead, the door is shown much further away and on the more distant right green fifth.

The implication is that although jaded Gura has emerged within reach of her goal, it would still be up to her to put forward that final push of effort, as it remained just out of reach.

The final shot of the video is a perspective to the door handle which she has reached, and of her opening the door to the bright unknown.

To conclude, the end credits sequence plays while depicting the isolation room from the start, but with several differences.

Ash Again is inscribed into the far wall, with a diagonal line of shadow causing parts of letters in the lower half to have caught on fire. Less notably, the credits sequence continues in the 2.35:1 cinematic, and not the 16:9 ratio of the opening.

That uppermost image is just a very cool shot of the trident, which is fully constrained by the blue diagonal rabatment lines on either side of its extent. A justification why I began this thread.

Not shown is an overhead close-quarter-combat sequence which is entirely constrained to the innermost blue diamond, until a break separates the two. A fascinating watch if you can.

Further scenes show young Gura and her background rock at convergence points, until jaded Gura is defeated. The power dynamic shows jaded Gura constrained to the right column of blue and green lines, but young Gura is closer to the center with the obvious advantage and win.

Also of note, is the rock which was behind young Gura throughout.

It is depicted at the denouement as having a flat side which aligns to the left green rabatment fifth. It also has a downward slope, to which the rock... placed strategically aside young Gura (albeit in the background)... appears shark-like in its own resemblance.

As a whole, young Gura holds a horizontal trident, is in a battle stance, and has a foundational shark totem on her side, while a cautious jaded Gura stands empty-handed and defeated to the right.

Bursting from the water, young Gura finds power unto herself. Nearly every frame includes a rock as seen at convergence points, solidifying young Gura as a foundation of strength and resolution.

A single frame of two sharks in combat is seen, which acts as a transition from 16:9 fullscreen back into the cinematic 2.35:1 ratio, further cementing the importance of the conflict.

For the first time in the video, the two sides are evenly matched as the tridents of jaded Gura and young Gura meet in the center. Their stances align with the rabatment lines.

However, in the bottom image, the power dynamic is still in jaded Gura's grasp as she holds a marginal difference in offence over young Gura's defence.

Following the initial 2.35:1 conflict, an isolated Gura is thrust once more into a fullscreen 16:9 ratio.

As the screen is divided horizontally into fifths, the lyrics are constrained within the green and blue fifths off-center, rising as isolated and abandoned Gura sinks.

However, the lyric "They only speak for me" (regarding the words which are hers) are shown aligning with the right green rabatment line, as to imply breaking away from the constraints within the blue/green columns before. Those words are also backlit as black on white to further emphasize their difference in the lyrics prior.

The transition between the isolated Gura to the outdoors also marks a shift in the cinematic display of 16:9 at the start, to a narrower 2.35:1 ratio which was common in theatrical releases prior to 1970s.

In the topmost image, the left green line binds jaded Gura, while the right green line aligns to the background stone structure. Young Gura is constantly seen with stone to her back, as if to imply she has a strong foundation. Conversely, jaded Gura is depicted with the open sky, with her feet barely touching water, and with the door as her goal.

So I have a problem with #Gen1ReComp. I have my Lv56 Nidoking, A, who is a TAS speedrun league champ. Rocket Revenge mod puts a guy at Veridian with a Mewtwo. He DESTROYS me each battle. Nidoking uses an X-Speed through Dragonite, then Earthquake on Mewtwo, damages 45%. Then bam. Lol. Just wow.

The PokeStats website puts a base Level 56 Nidoking at 0-in-1000 odds to beat a base Level 56 Mewtwo.
