(I should clarify that 'special circumstances ' does not diminish Zulu Martial ability givem the Level of technological Advantage. Just that the greater that advantage gets the more the other Side needs to engineer circumstances that Limit how much that can be employed)

And even that were very special circumstances (the recognition of such putting the Zulu at least tacticly ahead of these idiots). But these idiots would probably assume Zulu spearman beeing the height of africa Martial ability

Honestly, there would be surrender before massive destruction. Even the Most human wave tactics need SOME reasonable success for soldiers to be willing to die. Even If you have the Numbers for spearmen to beat modern armies... How do you convince thousands to die to take Out Like 20 guys

Coal mining was tiny - Germanies coal is brown and mostly already mined, while Solar grew. And it obv had manual labor, not just physicists, nor did modern mines rely on low-paid manual work. But most people THINK coal is a massive amount of poor manual laborers and solar a tiny field of academics.

testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
This perception of 'real' (and 'numerous') jobs extends even beyond creative vs. industrial. In Germany they dropped funding for solar at a critical point, but desperatly kept coal mining profitable even though just paying the miners for that time would have been cheaper.

I also like how that links in Control and the idea (small DLC spoilers) that he has written Jesse Fayden into existence or at least had influence here. A eldritch horror protagonist cant REALLY win , so you shift genre to action horror with a fitting protagonist

In general, as was said, 'interesting' periods of history with lots of upheaval. Here it would be a party refusing to abdicate power despite election results, forcing a (potentially violent) conflict. Even if it would be doomed to fail, the mere action would result in massive issues

within 'car manufacturers with interest against Public transport', piech is mostly an old hat. Winterkorn and blume would be today. Also, our network IS good, its just hard to get a good connection between a lot of far out small villages.i local universities are researching that stuff a lot

testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
...there is one place in Germany where piech has a lot of influence. Also, you are again making stupid assumptions, since any malignant influence on infrastructure would be Strauß. Also, our government is heavy parliamentarian, the closest to governor equivalent wields very little power

Thats before we get that many rural communities are just very hard to efficiently service. Even an excellent service system is hard to run efficiently while also offerring rides all day between 300 people villages

And unfortunatly I feel that even if the british public starts wanting to go back to the EU, accepting "normal" membership would be a far harder sell. After all, they even (even if much was based on exagerrations and false accusation) found their membership oppressivly unfair.
100
testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
But its highly unlikely that the EU would grant them the previous, additional previliges. Those caused plenty issues while (obv.) not satisfying the British desire to not be 'ruled by Brussel'. So unless they convince the EU on a membership+ again they have a very hard sell to the british public.

Its a city in a short story by Ursula Leguin "those who walk away from omelas". Its a seeming utopia, except one kid needs to (apparently) be horrificly abused to sustain the utopia. The story looks at the people justifying their action and those that dont accept it (the titular ones walking away).

The shift happened in 2015 (the refugee crisis): Merkel, chancellor of the conservative party, performed VERY pro refugee, so anti-refugee voters had no 'home'. Plus, little support with dealing with refugees, so they could easily perform 'clerly there is no solution beyond our extremism'

They started with EU support for Greece as more of a economic 'alternative' (anti-EU, but more economics than 'just' nationalists), but as so often, the nationalists took over. Plus, there is a LOT of resentment in former GDR areas for allegedy getting screwed over in reunification
110
testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 08/09/2026
Outside the usual, the name 'alternative' - starting from Merkel-era politics where no party disagreed substantially with her on certain issues . Combine with resentment due to past failing allowed for a high profile simply by going "we are different" (regardless of how viable that migth be)

We had some of that in germany esp. for university students (since they often didnt have TV).. There were some incremental increases to what requires a fee ('you have a car radio, so pay'). But evtl. the courts just went 'everyone can access it SOMEHOW so every household pays.'

To take the example: You are in the room the equivalent of 4 m away from the AC. Its 60 dB from 1 m distance, it would be (1/4)² = 1/16 (or -12 dB) to 48 dB, somewhat quiet conversation. If a data center is 60 dB about 100 m away, you would need to be 400 m away for that. 103 m reduces by 0,29 dB
000
testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
Simplified, imagine sound as an expanding ball. A "you" sized area (say 2 m²) is what you feel. But, the bigger it is, the more you need to stretch it for the same relative effect: From r = 1 m to 2 m quarters what 2 m² means. But going from 100 m to 101 only reduces it by around 2 %.
100
testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 02/09/2026
Due to how sound spreads based on the original. Simply, its not "60 dB falls off X in per m", its "60 dB falls of by 6 dB (quarters) when doubling the distance". So if something is 60 dB 100 m from point of origin, it needs 200 m to be 54, whereas something beeing 60 dB 1 m from it only needs 2

Sure, but I think at this point his motivations have SO many options there aint really a 'real' one.. I alone heard: Jealous of Spiderman, envious that journalists are useless against supervillains, his wife, he investigated the Klan... Personally, I prefer it to be a flaw coming from a good reason.

testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Sure, but thats more a meta-problem of shared universes. I think in-universe he dislike all masked heroes , but is just around spiderman more. Also, he worries about spiderman because so many unquestionably idolize himunlike, say, moon knight. Makes sense for a journalist to be suspious about

Its a longer debate in-universe, (Marvle, not relaly DC). In the recent Marvel-DC crossover he and Lois Lane had a TV debate about that. To his credit, Jonah didnt say the usual that the whole 'what if superheroes loved ones gets targeted' is an excuse/not that bad to LOIS LANE of all people.

testdrive-solar.bsky.social @testdrive-solar.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Jonahs specific problem (its comics so it varies) is masked heroes. Captain America gets to punch Hydra, because if Cap ever punches a guy claiming he is Hydra even though he wasnt, he has an adress. Tony Stark cant (easily) sell Iron Man suits to warlords, because everyone knows who makes them etc

Technicly speaking, mainline Marvel has never been reset. They had some stuff, like the Ultimate Universe reset. Obv. they dont directly acknowledge it, but teenage Peter Parker swinging around WW2 New York and young adult Peter Parker doing the same with post 9/11 New York are the same person.

It makes a lot of sense for a game but people forgot these rules are deliberate abstractions, not a 100 % view of the (fictional) reality. IMO these systems only really work by leaning into it, i. e. Parody, Expansion etc. but not just accepting it and go

Obv. I fear thats survivorship bias. There politicians whose indescretions became public to late, and there could be hundreds of politicians with stuff on them that never surface. Plus, they might just hope that it surfaces post election/primary, where removing them is inopportune/impossible.

In general, the absolute universe has a core theme of the villains are in authority and putting the positions in the inverse: Ras al Ghul is a company mogul, the Joker is the richest man, Hector Hammond runs a company with Carol Ferris as assistant, Veronica Cale controls the Pentagon...

I. E. if a family would have 1 farmer and two farmhands doing 60 hours a week, but his wife, grandparents and 4 kids each assist 5 hours they would say 21 hours, even as the others spent 40+ hours cooking, sowing, making shoes, tools etc., taking care of animals and doing support like repairs

I have seen two explanations of how this number got to be: Its based on a faulty interpretation of the time serfs worked 'as serfs', as in the feudal labour they had to do for their lord in exchange for the land. And 2: Its the average time spent farming when all other work was discarded

The mechanics will still be different. Even in very similar games the Game might be different. In the Code of one the sword might technicly be expressed as changing the Characters Body i. E. And even If they are similar - what If one game has 500 damage as "a Lot" and the other as "almost nothing"

Even if that were in any way realistic - how?! - I never understood the "why"? What advantage is there to putting them in space? Its not like we are running out of room on earth. Maybe ideal room for them, but, like... last time I checked even building them in Siberia would be much easier than Space
