Yet, globally, the People keep crying out, crying out for democracy that is pitch perfectly representative of, reflective of, and responsive to the People while protecting and advancing their rights — and all the while these are the tenets of true democracy, for true democracy is common sense.

to make the lives of vast numbers of citizens better than if they had another random kind of government from another part of the world: These theocracies, monarchies, dictatorships, republics, and the like serve to make the lives of the politically connected better. That is all.

They have protested because their theocracies, monarchies, dictatorships, republics, and such (although the People have the ability to retrofit republics to be almost truly democratic), do not represent the People rightfully do not adequately address the People’s wellbeing, and generally do not help

Our wellbeing and the wellbeing of all future generations depend upon our personal decision to think bigger and beyond our boundaries, and they depend upon this...

To come of age this way, at any age, one must mostly leave, though we rode it here, the legacy of the human animal’s, or human creation’s, past in its place, especially when and where it is examined and found to harm others—obvious self-defense and the honest and selfless defense of others aside.

But, when we stop allowing OURSELVES to be spoon-fed and pre-judicial, and when we decide for ourselves and then reassess openly via democratic dialogue what seems beneficial, benevolent, worthwhile, or sound, then with both uncommon and common sense we discover the beautiful beyond.

A closed mind is perhaps the most dangerous thing in the world and is most dangerous, paradoxically, to the people and the world outside of it.

That which is unexamined (yes, beyond the known world and the known cosmos, but particularly that which exists in our mind or in the products and byproducts of our community of minds and yet is not examined thoroughly) can easily be harmful

When we close off our minds from new ideas, new concepts, new worldviews, or the perspectives of others, our minds begin to atrophy, begin to become ill, become a danger to everyone, and begin to die.

Therefore, let’s strengthen our sacred, collective, democratic powers. For, we too are ingenious. Together, let’s consummate the Enlightenment and let’s grow more enlightened than ever.

We all deserve (and have always deserved) for our entire democratic system to be better, and the voices that help us to become more representative of our entirety are typically the ones who have striven the hardest to better democracy. Democracy does not self-improve magically — face it.

How about a Constitution and all other legislation that includes the voices of citizens without much money?

Do we not deserve legislation and numerous constitutional amendments that have proportional input by women, Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, API Americans, and Native Americans, in order to put our laws and our Constitution more into balance with our population?

Frequently, we have to change the system somewhat to make it more effective, to empower more of the People, to make the system more inclusive, more accessible, fairer, more equitable, truer, more user-friendly, more just, and less corrupt—

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
The Constitution originally enshrined slavery, treated Native Americans and Black people as subhuman (treated an enslaved person, for example, as three-fifths of a person), and treated women as second-class citizens without the right to vote. Face it: Our history includes much oppression—tyranny.

Those framers themselves, fortunately, recognized at least some of that which is why legislation and representation are continuous endeavors of the nation and why the Constitution is amendable and able to evolve. Times change; geography changes; technology changes; and the People change.
042
Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
beyond their most egregious faults, the framers were, unfortunately, also not very representative of all of the inhabitants of this land, and the system resulting from their efforts was not naturally timeless nor—with all of its faults—perfect.

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 04/07/2026
The Enlightenment begat, for Americans and beyond, an inspirational Constitution and country, and the framers of our Constitution and country were — for all of their faults — collectively ingenious, but,

4 When we report the facts, there are yet many more people we must recognize, including every person who has been disenfranchised. How many millions are denied the essence of democracy (their equal share of power) and are, therefore, denied their humanity by those enacting antidemocracy

3 An appeal to those who report on election results: Every time you give the numbers, going forward…

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 11/06/2026
So, let’s use every power we have as the People, citizens, global citizens, and citizens of the world, and let’s also strive for more. Meanwhile, we must vote. For, if we do not even use this first fundamental power, then we are, like the ancient Greeks said, "idiōtēs."

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 10/06/2026
Nevertheless, voting isn't like being a child on a shopping spree, demanding to be pleased. To push through antidemocratic obstacles to register and then to vote is to be a battle-scarred veteran in part of a movement, and regular voting reaffirms one’s role in what is a battle-tested movement.

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 09/06/2026
You do not have to be the last person onboard, with the last vote, to make a difference or to lift the board. One person does not do it; rather, the group accomplishes it together, over time, and does so faster and more resoundingly with you, rather than without you.
030
Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 08/06/2026
Each person joining in, one after one, is vital to lifting the board at some point.

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 05/06/2026
Democracy, people-power, is, at its heart, as simple as seesawing with a team of friends. We can lift a difficult cause, a party, a candidate, or a law through the weight of votes.
040
Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 01/06/2026
And, all along, we breathe: We vote. We breathe, and so our hearts beat; our hearts beat, and so we vote.

Terry O. Scott-Bond @terryoscott-bond.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
We socialize and act in the world as players: organize, engage in activism, work to inspire other voters, help them to register to vote, donate to campaigns and to causes, work for causes, even volunteer for causes, and run for office, and so on.
