Supported by the Major Projects Office, LNG Canada has reached a final investment decision on its Phase 2 expansion in Kitimat, B.C. The $33B private sector investment will make LNG Canada the second-largest facility of its kind in the world, & create more than 4,000 direct jobs during construction.

Through the new $1.5B Canada Rental Protection Fund, we are helping community housing providers buy and preserve at-risk rental buildings, so rents stay affordable in long run. Today our government broke ground on Ph. 1 of the North Coast Transmission Line, running from Prince George to Terrace. Once complete, it will more than double clean, low-cost electricity along Canada's West Coast, creating ~10,000 jobs and $10 billion in new economic activity.

The National School Food Program is now permanent, helping provide meals to up to 400,000 more kids nationally every year, including 230,000 students across 1,304 schools in BC. Families with 2 children save around $800/yr on groceries. Our government is making family life more affordable.

GDP grew 3.3% annualized in Q2, the fastest pace in 3 years. The rebound was led by exports (+3.6%) and business investment (+2.3%). Momentum is building. Today's numbers show we're on the right track. Canada is ready to be stronger, more resilient, more affordable for all.

This agreement to upgrade and expand the Churchill Falls Generating Station and develop the Gull Island project and related transmission marks the largest clean energy investment in North American history. It's also our government's commitment to double the capacity of our electricity grid by 2050.

Our government is committed to removing barriers to interprovincial trade and strengthening supply chains. Our government's plan for a stronger, more independent economy is working. Canada added 75,000 jobs in July, the third straight month of gains, led by private sector growth in finance, professional services, and construction. Unemployment fell to 6.4%, the lowest in two years, too.

Statistics Canada data shows crime down nationwide in 2025. Our work continues. Our government promised stricter bail and tougher sentencing, which is now law and effective mid July, with 80+ Criminal Code changes targeting repeat and violent offenders. We will keep building a safer Canada.
