And then we'd pick up and move along. Given the circumstances , folks were relatively cheerful between sniffles. We were still our usual weird selfs hanging out on a Saturday night wearing electronic blindfolds and presenting as various creatures. Just missing one.

It helped that it aligned with our usual meetup day. By the time I'd joined, there had been hours of eulogizing, and a hand drawn memorial wall had been made using the worlds pens. Cheery conversation would occasionally dip while someone relived a memory, and folks would give them space and time

As someone who runs a decently sized but closely knit social VR community, I've laid in bed at night wondering how we'd handle loss for the first time. After all, it was inevitable. We're not showing any signs of slowing down, and life goes on. And it has a way of catching you off guard
