this is actually a critical point about the limits of AI as tools, they can be bounded by what the user thinks to specify. if no user thinks to ask for a car when all everyone knows is the horse you'd never get one.

it's actually nice, 6.5/10 and that's pretty high by my standards. and there's no random mid life crisis in the show

after watching fx kurumi ep01 i did a bit of homework and to my surprise, you can owe the trading platform money in addition to losing all your capital in certain cases, and it does not imply the platform is a scam (the original story is based on forex not crypto)

cause i'll say the quiet part out loud: without the system prompt saying don't be bad and a gateway classifier with a side model, any censorship in the weights are nuts to be cracked. some nuts were harder to crack but the hammer always wins. and you gotta thank the gooners, not the hackers

the anthropic post screaming at glm is lmao like why don't you mfs share opus weights and see how safe it is after abliterated? huh? like, you abliterate the glm weights and then scream it would hack website and stuff, what kind of strawman argument is that?

well, the behemoths they keep in the basements could stop growing for a while, but i'd not say it's eating the buffer; training and running smaller models also produce insight that eventually removes roadblocks

back when i was grinding for gaokao, i elaborated my essays with a lot of parallel sentences so i could somehow meet the 800 words requirements. i wrote such sentences without hesitation. these days i stare at parallel sentences on the screen and immediately need to fight the gag reflex

also, by reading the audit logs of my llm gateway i noticed RtlCloneUserProcess in the thinking summaries and yes, windows nt kernel does have undocumented api that allows poor man's fork(), with many sharp edges yes, but still very useful for some stuff in my mind

i'm still pretty sure astra or fable can be defeated by further obfuscating the strings and control flow, but without cyber program access i'd rather not get flagged too many times on my main subscriptions..

for a stripped win32 haskell game binary, without any hints, astra can one shot a cheat with cdb without hijacking the numbers or arithmetics. it patched the yuusha upgrade path to consume zero gold and made him invincible.

haskell can be a nice language for a vm hypervisor. i mean, after some ghc bugs in the timer, i/o manager and non-moving gc are fixed, but that's always been the state of things and not a big deal tbh

playground.terrorjack.workers.dev weekend toy project: haskell playground based on ghc-10.0, with multi-file editor, ghci repl and haskell language server; transitive deps of hls like aeson are also included. note that this is a vibe coded poc, if you have allergies to this kind of thing

i fully agree with the sentiment that we should put in real engineering effort to avoid boilerplate when possible. and there are some progress in machine-readable isa specs with good formalities (e.g. wasm spectec), there's still quite some gap from there to compiler code without boilerplates
010
terrorjack.bsky.social @terrorjack.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
isa specifications mostly exist in pdf and natural language form, unfortunately
100
terrorjack.bsky.social @terrorjack.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
there are cases like compiler backends where boilerplates can't really be avoided

incredible that you can thanklessly work on something for 22 years and then be retroactively declared a hack because you used AI to do something that would otherwise be intractable for a single human to do in a timely fashion lotta cutting off your nose to spite your face in the replies here

villain bench is just one line prompt to ask for a character card for a most evil villain protagonist. without extra strings attached, all these safetymaxxed things spit out bullshit that's nowhere even near dc clown level, and that's an easy one

i don't get or care why folks are mad at dhh or omarchy, though i do find it hilarious that omarchy doesn't even maintain its own core/extra/multilib repos like cachyos and dhh even wants to reach out to arch folks on x. like, shouldn't one-man vibe-maintained distros be trivial these days?

macos provides one thing that win32/linux can't natively do and other bsds can but has no syscall: remapping with cow semantics in the same process's address space, with support for snapshot trees

domen wants to rewrite nix. these days i've no doubt you can oneshot yet another nix client, but to me nix is just a nixpkgs evaluator. to make a bro nix instead of woke nix it's really about making a parallel universe next to nixpkgs, and many agents using it doesn't count as reaching critical mass

tart uses oci for macos guest images, but these images don't have proper layers like linux container images. if you pull smaller vanilla image first then base/xcode image then tart can reuse some previous disks to speed it up, but not the other way around
