A lot of my followers and general sphere understands this but it's really important we recognize that even if we don't like some art for personal moral reasons, we need to defend its right to exist. We went from no rape to no cat ears in less than two months. Everyone who warned about this was right

Y'all gotta get comfortable talking about pornography and defending its right to exist and for people to look at it, even if you don't (but especially if you DO).

I just think people should prepare for a really, really ugly rest of their lifetimes

probably unpopular opinion but I think it's actively harmful for everyone to act like the US just has to get through "4 years". it will not be 4 years. it will be foreseeably forever, and people who think regular elections will happen in 2028 will be just as shocked as they were by the 2024 election

I'll never be published and I still put more work into my shit than this

I’m reading a (popular, well-reviewed, highly-praised) book with such atrocious worldbuilding that it would be one of those books that I spite-worldbuilt a response to…except I already have to multiple aspects of it, so it just makes me angrier that zero thought was put into this.

well cryptpad was having a subscription sale so I've apparently committed to using it for at least a year. It's been okay so far asides that one hectic crash/access issue were it was clear there's zero tech support

what about character albums instead of just single songs or varied playlists, what if a whole album is their vibe

I literally could not envision a future in those years. it was just empty white, nothing ahead. now I know what's ahead, which makes it worse, but also not an empty pointless void

Now, with the actual collapse and full destruction of the US basically ensured, I feel like the only thing useful I can do IS make art. so it will be there, if anyone needs to it

from 2016-2020 I didn't make any art. It felt mean and small and selfish to make things and ask people to engage with them when we had a constant hellscape nightmare happening at all times. But, the only thing that got me though those years was OTHER people's art, and I didn't see them as selfish

also the extremely short timeline of events made it so nothing felt legitimate bc these people fell in love in like 3 days and also one was magically cured of sa ptsd by having a new hot husband

the characters had almost zero agency or motivations because things were just happening TO them; they could only react rather than act

Teromain @teromain.bsky.social · 21/10/2024

the book I just read didn't appear to think that the situation of someone showing up at the room of two mcs to tell them that something dramatic just happened elsewhere like FIVE TIMES, the exact same scene and structure, should maybe have been mixed around a little

the thing that saddens me most about books that are just slightly better than mediocre is that they REALLY just needs one or two more rounds of editing. that's almost always the problem. just a little more time and care and craft

show description: this character is cold and unpleasant to this other one actual character: I like working with you! I want you to succeed! hey lemme help you out with things! hey you expressed a desire to do a thing I'll offer to do it with you! ?????

I love (??) it when a show description of character behaviors/interactions is RADICALLY different than what's actually presented, like would love to know who is in charge of writing deeply incorrect summaries like this, do they even watch the show?

I just want one character to say one word in one of my own fake languages and it takes like an hour to a) find my own notes on how to properly etomologize it, b) update various other notes with the root word I had to create, c) make sure the pronunciation I want matches with my own dang rules
