Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Tracked down an intermittent 403 Forbidden error today on one of my apps. Apparently district IT added some security to the load balancer that rejected requests based on request body size, and sorry, but faculty are wordy! and they paste from Word, too. Fixed now, but I need a drink. 020
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Happy Birthday! I had been meaning to get the Midnight Bargain for awhile, so that is now done. Picked up the new one, too. Hope it does well! 131

Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I'd offer to come get you, but I won't be at the convention until Friday. 110
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Honestly, probably a shuttle service. I have used GoRideLA .com in the past and they were good. It is pricy, but they will pick you up and drop you off and even bring you back if you need that. There are also other shuttle services you can look into. Or a taxi or uber I suppose. 010

Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 11/06/2026I welcome recommendations of more mysteries like the ones above. Recent titles are preferred! 000
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 11/06/2026And since I was on a mystery kick I started rereading Peter Bowen's Gabriel Du Pré mysteries. These are from the mid-90s to the mid-00s mainly, set in Eastern Montana, and the main character is a Métis fiddle player. Atmospheric, dark and also funny, and highly recommended! 4/4 100
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 11/06/2026The second series: Waverly Jones by Skyla Dawn Cameron @skyladawn.ca. Contemporary, set in Canada, and I can't think of a pithy way to sum up the main character. She is amazing, though, and someone I enjoyed spending time with. More are promised. I look forward to reading all of them. 3/4 241
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 11/06/2026The first series: Evander Mills books by Lev AC Rosen @levacrosen.bsky.social. Start with Lavender House. Gay ex-cop in 1950s San Francisco. Wonderful! There are 4 in total and the 4th one ends in such a way that I do not expect another. Though I would be happy to read #5 if it gets written! 2/4 100
Sylvia Sotomayor @terjemar.bsky.social · 11/06/2026I haven't been reading many mysteries lately, mostly because of the ubiquitous copaganda. But I found two series in the past two weeks that I really enjoyed! 1/4 100
