Watching @patstaresat.bsky.social play Earthbound has made me feel like playing another quirky JRPG. One infamously never released outside Japan, but which has a cult following and an excellent fan translation, and features lots of bizarre animal-robot hybrid monsters. That's right: Metal Max.

Thinking about how disappointing Disgaea Mayhem is again. A Disgaea Musou should have been a slam dunk. There are so many characters across the series it would be fun to play as, so many enemy types, so many mechanics that would be easy to translate, and they fumbled every part.

Finally finished Trails Beyond the Horizon after taking a long break. That really is the worst cliffhanger in the series' history, and we're probably still at least 2 years from the continuation. Evil stuff, lol.

Replaying Pikmin 4 on the hard mode they added to it last year. This is reminding me how much Pikmin 4 rules, and it's even better now that everything requires a bit more strategy.

I was in the mood for Pikmin so I loaded up some Pikmin 2 romhacks. Pikmin Squared was so good right up until the new cannon beetle boss that you need to guide the rocks into its back. That experience was so miserable that it has ruined the whole thing for me.

Marisa in Labyrinth of Touhou Tri is a horrific boss that requires equal parts of preparation, strategy, and tons of luck. I never want to fight her again. But boy was it satisfying to finally win. (Playing Hard mode so grinding isn't an option)

Tried out Romancing SaGa 3 as my next step on the SaGa journey. I don't think I'm strong enough. There's a good game in there, but it's buried under the worst UI known to man. I think I'll check out Minstrel Song instead, it seems more complicated but has a UI not built by aliens.

Just beat the Romancing SaGa 2 remake. I always knew I had the potential to be a SaGa freak, I just needed an in, and that was it. Now to try the rest of the series now that I know what I'm doing.
