It’s a bumper apple crop year…and I find myself looking up “flyspeck,” as one does. We already made and canned a bunch of apple sauce and then we dehydrated some, too. #selfsufficiency #homegrown 🍎🍏

I stumbled upon a swim goggles graveyard where, I can only presume, the Spousal Unit and Kid2 go to quietly pay their respects every so often 🤔 Seriously, how many pairs do 2 people really need?

Speaking of the Spousal Unit’s good cooking…all the veggies are #homegrown and the bread is #homemade (by me). Deets on the veggies in the alt text.

What’s with all the #insects that seem like they want to come in? Are they wanting the Spousal Unit’s good cooking? Surely it can’t be wanting air conditioning. #cicada

Interestingly, Vancouverites (or at least me) sound like Marylanders 🤔
The “Your Dialect Map” for my after filling out a quiz at https://mydialect.us/quiz-standard.html It says my dialect most like someone from Maryland at 56% match. My responses are most similar to people from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York City. And it’s the least like the ones from New Orleans, Houston, and Dallas. Not

Time is linear, but within this pale orb, you can see the future. It’s been a while since I participated in #HaikuSaturday. What with deadlines and other writing/publishing-related work, I haven’t had the time or headspace do this.
The fluffy seed head of prickly, lettuce (genus Lactuca, species serriola), resembles a miniature dandelion seed head. This perfectly intact specimen called for having its photo taken.

This #LifeDrawing #sketch is a breakfast treat. We usually eat homemade bread, toasted, but occasionally we’ll make a trip to Costco and indulge in croissants. Spousal Unit likes it with Vegemite (yes, you read that right), and I like it with homemade marmalade. French people are appalled. 😂
A drawing of a croissant done with a Pentel EnerGel pen. The text says, “Costco croissants might not be patisserie quality, but they are still damn tasty after toasting. And at $.50 a pop, they’re also an incredible value.”
