After being the dark for so long, the dark becomes more comfortable than the light. Especially if there's trauma involved. Trauma brings in a darkness that only those affected by it truly understand. It makes the light seem dangerous. Mental illness is complex. We need more interventions. #awareness

Cosplayers are people too. We get overwhelmed, overstimulated, etc at cons. We love meeting people, but sometimes we can only handle so much at once. I have a small following, but that is why I jumped right into organizing meet ups. I know my limitations. I want to make sure everyone feels included.

When I realized my trauma, I went straight into grief. I grieved feeling loved and feeling like I was deserving of love. "I'm unstable, I'm unpredictable. I don't want to hurt anyone." I didn't think those emotions would come back, but they did. You are not alone. #suicideawareness

I am 76 & I have had most of these vaccinations at one time or another. Also vaccinations against Covid, Tetanus, plus Cholera & Yellow Fever when travelling in foreign countries. These prevented me catching horrible diseases & dying a gruesome death. They did not harm me, they protected me!

Nervous systems are different different per person. Emotional regulation is apart of our nervous systems. We can learn how to regulate them. Regulation happens through healthy outlets like therapy, speaking nicely about yourself, and pulling back/asking for help before getting overwhelmed.
