But while I was carving my brain went, "Oh..this is gonna be a new hobby we pick up after this isn't it?"😅 But we're doing a reduction print for this, so first step was carving out what's going to be white, which is mostly my bg, and I added some light reflections to give the bottle more dimension

a drawing of two soot sprites working together to get konpeito out of a bottle with one standing in the bottle handing them up to another holding onto the bottle opening, with a few candies sat next to the jar and a bath token with a konpeito tied around the neck of the bottle

the carved lino with the image drawn back in as it had faded some, and I'd realized I'd forgotten the arm of the one inside the bottle

Then I and the other lady who had her stencils finished went and scouted some spaces and got to work! Lots of curious glances but only had one person who walked past twice before stopping and asking if we had permission to be doing this and even when we said we did looked skeptical 😆

For those of us who had our stencil ideas ready we worked on getting them made Tues, then today we tested them first to see if anything needed to be adjusted/if they needed to be remade, luckily I just forgot the stinger on the big serpent so just had to quickly cut it out

With a few tweaks of my own of course, like a splash of red wine to help deepen the flavor along with some extra spices 🍲😋 It smells sooo good simmering away, gonna be testing my patience waiting for it 😆

We also have to come up with stencils for a larger project that the whole art department is taking part in to paint some walls around campus, we got free reign to choose what to do, these were the rough sketches for mine so far :3 They'll be cleaned up when we go to make them

Of course once I brought it home I had to dress it up a little😂 Still need to do something to the insides of the covers, maybe with stamps🤔 But now I want to make more! Like one for watercolor!🤩

Rose likes to paint, she finds it therapeutic, she has a travel watercolor kit she uses to paint in her journal and when she's home she'll work on larger pieces She also knits/weaves/sews, having grown up raising sheep she's used to making clothes and such with wool and what it takes to process it
