In September I played: - More Onimisha: Way of the Sword - Endless Legend 2 - Minecraft Dungeons 2 - Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (turns out, it was a lot of 2s) www.patreon.com/Tenkiei/post...

Opened my second channel to upload for the first time in ages... YT revamped the analytics tab and it now has this right below metrics. There is no way to hide this garbage, and useful things like "how viewers find your content" is below it. JUST GIVE ME MY STATISTICS IN PEACE.

My "what I played" for September is coming soon. Looking ahead at the rest of the year I'm gonna be playing a few new things, some 1.0s I've been waiting for and catching up on more backlog games. One thing about covering video games is it can be hard to find time for the backlog, so I make time.

Everyone complains that advanced access is a shitty practice for MMOs and live/competitive games (because it is). But there are 170k players online for Aion2, (which requires a $25-100 advanced access pack) so yeah, every MMO is going to keep doing this...

After about an hour of the Wo Long 2 Demo, my thoughts: - Visuals are very muddy and hard to follow in combat. - Too many moves are combos, IE: RB+B, LB+B, A -> RB+A instead of single button presses. - Standard Koei Techmo optimization, low framerate, a couple crashes. Probably gonna pass on this.

I got some strange comments today, all flagged to spam, random combinations of places/names. I think it's an evolution of the name spam bots. Check out this excellent video from @hgmodernism.bsky.social if you're curious why bots would do this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDAW...

I just got the funniest scam email ever. It said my McAfee bill was overdue and the service would be removed from my computer if I didn't pay. Pretty sure 10 years ago people WOULD pay you to remove McAfee from their computer.

Either Sony realized this wasn't a live service, or Kojima insisted on a physical release. (Jokes aside, the fact that they tried to cancel this is insane and I have no serious explanation).

This banger tagline is wasted on a weak article. There are plenty of great games which released this gear that would normally lead to a fierce competition over GotY, regardless of where the aggregate scores landed according to metacritic.

It's funny to me to see people say "Onimusha Way of the sword isn't an Onimusha game, it plays like God of War" when God of War was explicitly inspired by Onimusha. Way of the sword is an Onimusha game, and feels remarkably similar to a polished, scaled up, and more complex version of Warlords.

As far as I know, neither Arc Raiders nor Crimson Desert changed anyone's mind on AI. I don't see the next title that succeeds (and uses AI) changing peoples minds either. These titles succeed despite their AI use, not because of it. Also, a game's success does not change peoples mind on AI.

000

Tenkiei @tenkiei.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

THIS! I do not like generative AI flooding games one bit. But if people start witch hunting every game they think used AI that's going to do a ton of damage too.

It's always bizarre to me when someone argues my video is wrong, then backs it up with examples of things not in the video. Is listening comprehension that poor these days? Or did they literally watch another video, get mad, then post on mine...somehow?

Thoughts on #gamescom opening night? B- Opening night is always a lot of cinematic trailers, but not that many things I'm interested in. Some of the deep dives that released recently / will be releasing soon are more up my alley. But also... yeah, about what I expected.

+1 "this is why we cannot have nice things" I had to ban all self promotion from my discord because people have been joining to advertise their games/projects. If you're an indie dev, don't do this, it's gross.

One thing that's endlessly frustrating about covering variety. Sometimes Youtube decides I just don't get to cover a game. Why? Because it shows the videos to the wrong audience. It's beyond me why the platform has not implemented a "this is not for my normal audience" button yet.

I've been having a good time with Mortal Shell II, but I am souring a bit now that I've fought some of the later bosses with large bodies. The camera is just so frustratingly bad. Losing focus/lock and blinding me because I went near a wall, getting stuck in the floor, spinning. Ugh.
