Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts:
When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge.
You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be.
Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history.
You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired.
Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.

I today tested the new SeeDance 2.0 both with detectors and itself. The new 'ground breaking' video genAI is just good FaceSwap as AI detectors even detected original frames and photos used (as non ai, underneath the filter) AI is scam with very low innovation rate on money invested.

Reminder things like this exist You can actively block ai websites and images -making every days searches more accurate and less fake. Also oddly reduces occurrence of scam as you can block websites from search from server level. I constantly do same search as co-workers and find things faster.

Aramis notices the butterfly entering. The butterfly, no longer silhouetted, is revealed to be a monarch butterfly. It flies across the room towards the audiograph player and lands on it. Aramis smiles with tears in his eyes. On the audiograph recording, Theodanis says, “You told me once that monarchs carry the souls of the dead, here to visit the living. And perhaps Luca’s prodding has me too focused on my age, or maybe I’m just sentimental… But after my time comes, I hope a monarch will be kind enough to grant me one more visit with you. Anyway, talk to you next week Stilton, my friend.”

Can't stress it enough - China is the country with the strictest laws on AI training, which were passed in haste to protect their entertainment industry and international deals.
