I said in the ad it would likely need some sill welding + etc. His main goal is to get it on the road + take it from there, which we very much support. Too many old cars get bought, dug into ... and then life intervenes + they stay disassembled + non-running for months / years / decades.

We're big fans of Junkyard Digs + their rescues (which always seem to involve rodent urine). And John always liked the lines of these early-'80s Imperials. One that got away: John's 1964 Pontiac GTO convertible. Entirely rust-free California car, but the 4-bbl w/the weird 2-speed TurboHydro automatic. Owned 1978 to 1989, sold to a GTO shop that did a frame-off resto w/the hot setup: 4-speed + triple 2-bbls. Also bright red paint. Where is it today ??

Everyone knows Tail of the Dragon, but The Snake (TN Route 421) is Tail's big brother: 489 curves, 33 miles. Taking a dozen 35-year-old Japanese cars down it is a summer highlight every year. (We didn't do the whole length.) Geo Storm race car is ahead of me, with a load of Mustangs coming at us.
