STEAL THIS THREAD. 1/3 #Speechify

White and yellow text on a black background, reading: it's time to stop using Speechify® to read fanfiction and self-published (or not-yet-published!) work. (there’s a pink thread emoji, and an arrow pointing down, asking you to) please allow me to explain how using Speechify® harms indie and fanfiction authors.

🩸ASTARION🩸 A character whose depth I absolutely love. I will never regret keeping him a spawn. As a CPTSD suffering person, I can say it's a really well written character. I love him for that. #astarion #astarionfanart #fanart #bg3 #bg3fanart #baldursgate3

Astarion shows us his back while side eyeing the camera. He licks blood out of his lips while holding a bloody dagger. The scars on his back are pictured on the background and the canvas is stained with ink, blood and coffee

this is making the rounds on facebook so i thought id bring it here for u m'lord

screenshot of a post i made on twitter

i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking
