A while back I ordered the paperback version of @mariadongwrites.bsky.social’s Aviary on recommendation from Storytime With @wilwheaton.net and I got a surprise present for myself today! Woot!

Every time I see someone whose cart is filled with water bottles, I want to scream at them to just buy two quality water bottles for each person in their family and a water filter. Not only will you be saving the planet you’ll be saving a shit ton of money too. Plus refrigerator and storage space.

As much as I enjoy the humble potato, I can’t believe that when I ordered French Fries I instead got “Fryettes”

A basket of what is ostensibly called French Fries, but are in actuality short ends of potatoes prepared in a French Fry fashion. We’re talking 2” max. While quite delicious and fresh cut, their inability to be held and simultaneously dipped without getting the fingers messy precludes full enjoyment of the fry product.

Reminds me of my favorite science comic.

Doc Brown mispronounced “jigawatts”, he should have said “gigawatts” because GIF is pronounced gif like in gift not jif like the peanut butter.

Had fun at the Demon Slayer popup cafe in Wicker Park. Gyoza was excellent and they did a good job with the decor. All in all a fun silly diversion, and don’t we all need fun silly diversions right about now?
