Runaway horses by Yukio Mishima, the second in his Sea of Fertility tetralogy. The first book was focused on beauty and this one moved to the tragedy of the purity of youth, to see things with such conviction that you actually follow through. Beautiful prose, I enjoyed almost as much as the first.
