Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Severance (nothing to do with the Apple TV show) by Ling Ma follows a similar-ish route as this - very worth reading imo. 010
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Deffo not jump scare - but I'd say I've never really read anything (fiction) that's made me feel frightened - even if I can see that the writer is conveying objectively scary scenarios? American Psycho I found pretty disturbing tbf. Worth also noting that I don't read tonnes of/any horror fic tbh. 100
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 06/10/2026You don't have to read that again, but you could read this for the first time... 100
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Can books be scary? Has anyone ever read a book that has actually scared them? Fiction this is. I read Annie Jacobsen's 'Nuclear War: A Scenario' which was pretty terrifying. I've also read Andrew Michael Hurley's 'The Loney'. I enjoyed but didn't find 'absolutely terrifying' as had been billed. 300
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Have I ever told you that I actually hate football tbh? 120
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Can't help but feel I'm bringing my whiffy men's team vibes to the WSL today. 470
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Feels like they're going into this in quite punchy fashion, so it surprises me that they allowed this sort of thing to go on for so long. Crude comparison, but it's a bit BBC and Saville - everyone knew since forever something was going on, why has it taken so long? 110
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026But I've been quite staggered by the magnitude of it with City and personally I don't feel like the former of my proposed scenarios really fits the crime. Nearly two decades of the PL being a sham, essentially. Even more when you toss Chelsea into the mix, who everyone seems to have forgotten about. 470
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I'm not really coming at this from a chest-beating, tribal position. I'm sure there's people at Spurs, Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle etc who are nervously hoping that certain areas of operation aren't too finely-toothed in the coming months... 110
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 02/10/2026City: I'm thinking that it'll either be slap on wrist territory (fine that means nothing to owners + points deduction that might see them go down for a year) OR something genuinely mental like them being expelled from the football league and having to re-register from the bottom, Rangers style. 220

Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Love this... I do still think Chelsea are getting off too lightly though (in general, not calling you a shill 😂) 120

Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Spurs were/are good, we look solid and organised, but also, had Everton scored, they would have won? Where are the goals coming from? This shouldn’t be a question after a 300m+ transfer window, should it? It’s not all doom and gloom but there is some doom and gloom… 7281
Jack (tehTrunk) @tehtrunk.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Went to watch Max Adams give a talk about this book last night. He certainly didn't think much of William or Domesday! I learnt a lot. He also speculated that the Bayeux tapestry is a bit crap, purposefully. Something of a subtle protest, perhaps. 110
