other things i've learned about blood sugar: 1- have 1 cup of cooked carbs in *combination* with non-starchy veg and protein like cheese or meat 2- have dessert/sweet drinks at the end of a meal instead of as a snack or to replace a meal like breakfast - it reduces blood sugar spikes significantly 👍

we had to sing Fever in high school chorus, and Summertime which is the only lyrics i ever remember; i looked cute but no pics - we had to wear black/white and i sewed a blouse with a Donna Karan pattern + short black hair with long bangs + knee-length pleated skirt youtu.be/XoLz7F4YMe8?...

sorry to sound drastic but all the meditating in the world will not calm the mind and body when there's too much sugar in it; the way organs are affected by excess sugar, and what they have to do to deal with it, creates extreme physical tension that can be resolved mainly by cutting down on sugar

this is what i think is happening to all-black clothing rn: - casual black clothes like summer dresses and head to toe outfits don't look right anymore - something's shifted and they look like convent/monastery clothes; - casual black separates will stay as neutrals, offset by other colors; -->

i tell you what, sugar withdrawal is real; it's impressive that the brain is able (i suppose, via a connection between fundamental awareness and self-awareness) to "tell stories" around addiction; like, the world is coming to an end, i'll never be happy again, i'll die if i don't have a pastry

something strange since 3 weeks of almost no sugar/carbs - as if i'm descending back into my body from a state of heightened anticipatory anxiety, settling back in :) good to be back and i want a bit of carbs eventually i think i've had 1+ candy bar/sweet almost daily for the past ~25 years

i had to see The Odyssey :( it lacks the magic, metaphor, and adventure of the written story; instead it's about struggle and brutality - is it supposed to be the odyssey if it happened in 2026? what's the trend with reinterpretations and dramatizations - they suck

utterly world-weary but life finds a way; a 0-sugar diet makes me less tense by about 1,000,000,000~; plus a photo of the lingering post-covid trend of jogging shirtless

diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and stopped all sugar/sweets on 7/19; my body feels less fidgety and sort of soft inside, like air was let out of a tire; my mind is anxious as always but seems like it takes faster to recover; no snacking b/c every time we eat, insulin rises 🙄 🙏 🧚

so glad that at my age i can spot antisocial and pronounced npd behavior/attitude, but it's certainly cost me in youth; my advice is (and many people already know this) - if something seems off, then it's actually off - don't make excuses for people's bad behavior, and say no youtu.be/4zRlXj2NhS8

we're horrified by medieval torture methods but it's nothing compared to what's happened during the 20th century and up to now - i hope we can do something about human aggression and institute global rules against torture, kidnapping, etc.

i think one of the most important things we can do in relationships is respect the "bond" or the innate compatibility that brings couples together; as J. Campbell said - in a relationship, we don't sacrifice to each other, we sacrifice to the relationship; -->

bad, nasty people who'e also mentally ill can be quite evil, b/c they don't think or behave rationally, etc.; the most evil deeds in history have been done by very bad as well as mentally deranged humans; rightfully, we sympathize with those with mental illness but not everyone is good to start with

i'll post something positive eventually, but in the meantime everything in this universe is in a state of disordered balance and perpetually working to maintain a balanced state; life is about maintenance and will stop when the universe dissipates into the neutral cosmos

sorry to be so negative but my issue with sexual reproduction is the incessant rape and "sexual coercion" among all sexually reproducing species; if we achieve anything, it should be stopping this, even if we have to find another way to reproduce like cloning with enough genetic variation
