Margaret Chase Smith's Five Principles
Principle 1 - Respect for the Constitution and the rule of law. Public officials must honor constitutional limits and legal processes rather than resorting to intimidation or extralegal pressure.
Principle 2 - Respect for the right of all citizens to criticize. Citizens and elected officials must be free to speak and criticize government without fear of reprisal.
Principle 3 - The right to hold unpopular beliefs. Individuals should be allowed private beliefs or opinions without being punished or denied civil liberties.
Principle 4 - The right to protest. Peaceful protest and expression of dissent are legitimate parts of democratic life.
Principle 5 - The right to a fair trial and due process. Accused persons must receive fair hearings and be judged on evidence, not political accusation or innuendo.

• On Monday, U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel restricted federal agents from making arrests at three Manhattan immigration courts
—26 Federal Plaza, 201 Varick Street, and
290 Broadway-except under exceptional circumstances.
• Government lawyers recently reversed their position, conceding that 2025 policies regarding arrests near courthouses set by the administration of President Donald Trump did not apply to immigration courts after all.
• Castel ruled that while the government has an interest in enforcing immigration laws, there is a "serious interest in letting individuals attend removal proceedings and pursue asylum claims before a judge" without fear.
• Beth Baltimore, deputy director of The Door's Legal Services Center, called the decision an
"enormous win for noncitizen New Yorkers," with advocates continuing to support members impacted by courthouse arrests.
• Federal agents may still detain individuals at locations away from immigration courts and can intervene during serious public safety threats, though the ruling concludes a lawsuit brought by the NYCLU, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Make the Road NY.

Good morning, Bluesky 😘💞 Our first snow of the season fell on Long Island overnight, and the world held a moment of peace worth sharing. I hope your day is sweet, and easy, but if it’s not, I pray for peace to fill you along the way. 💞😎💞
Early morning. The weather outside is snowy. The shot is taken from inside an apartment, which is dark, while the window provides the only light source. Through the window, the trees are covered in snow, with a main tree providing a contrast of dark wood.

From Ground News…
Kremlin says new US
security strategy accords largely with Russia's view
• On Friday, the Kremlin welcomed changes in the U.S. National Security Strategy, saying the adjustments were largely consistent with Moscow's vision.
• Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the current U.S. administration was fundamentally different and its capacity for sweeping change aligns with Moscow's assessment, while the U.S. National Security Strategy framed aims as preventing dominance without wasting blood and treasure.
• Dmitry Peskov told state TV on Sunday that the U.S. National Security Strategy aligned with Moscow's vision, while the strategy criticised European allies.
• The NSS's release coincided with Kyiv officials meeting Trump's envoys in Florida on a U.S.-drafted peace plan while three days of talks produced no breakthrough and Russia launched strikes early Saturday.
• Moscow sees the NSS as a favourable signal of a potential U.S. pullback…

A screenshot of a response to a post.
The first response: “He’s not wrong.”
Second response: “No offense to you personally, but can we just say, “He is right.”, instead of “not wrong”. One of the worst non-committal phrases, and it needs to go away forever.
Third response: You’re not wrong.
Final response: A GIF of Snoopy, from “The Peanuts” covering his mouth in a giggle, saying “teehee”.

It is the result of the prior decade, (63-73) and stands in accusation against those who refused to listen; resulting in 50 years of racism, misogyny, and bigotry being laid down as a false narrative and foundation being taught in the Church. 3/4
…Therefore, we must challenge the misplaced trust of the nation in economic and military might---a proud trust that promotes a
national pathology of war and violence which victimizes our neighbors at home and abroad.
We must resist the temptationto make the nation and its institutions objects of near-religious loyalty. We acknowledge that we have encouraged men to prideful domination and women to irresponsible
passivity. So we call both men and women to mutual submission and active discipleship.
We proclaim no new gospel, but the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ who, through the power of
the Holy Spirit, frees people from sin so that they might praise God through works of righteousness. By this declaration, we endorse no political ideology or party, but call our nation's leaders and
people to that righteousness which exalts a nation. We make this declaration in the biblical hope that Christ is coming to consummate the Kingdom
and we accept his claim on our total discipleship till He comes.

I know that Hosea 5:15-6:3, which says that national repentance is the prescription, and the result is healing for the nation. It’s vital that we communicate it with our family and friends who ascribe to MAGA. This morning I traveled down a rabbit trail, and ran across this: 2/4
A DECLARATION OF EVANGELICAL SOCIAL CONCERN As evangelical Christians committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and the full authority of the
Word of God, we affirm that God lays total claim upon the lives of his people.
We can- not, therefore, separate our lives in Christ from the situation in which God has placed us
in the United States and the world.
We confess that we have not acknowledged the complete claims of God on our lives. We acknowledge that God requires love. But we have not demonstrated the love of God to
those suffering social abuses. We acknowledge that God requires justice. But we have not proclaimed or demonstrated his justice to an unjust American society. Although the Lord calls us to defend the social and
economic rights of the poor and the oppressed, we have mostly remained silent.
We deplore the historic involvement of the church in America with racism and the conspicuous responsibility of the evangelical community for perpetuating the personal attitudes and institutional structures that have divided the body of Christ along color lines. Further, we have failed to condemn
the exploitation of racism at home and abroad by our economic system. We affirm that God abounds in mercy and that he forgives all who repent and turn from their
sins.
So we call our fellow evangelical Christians to demonstrate repentance in a Christian
discipleship that confronts the social and political injustice of our nation. We must attack the materialism of our culture and the maldistribution of the nation's wealth
and services.
We recognize that as a nation we play a crucial role in the imbalance and injustice of international trade and development. Before God and a billion hungry neighbors, we must rethink our values regarding our present standard of living and promote more just
acquisition and distribution of the world's resources. We acknowledge our Christian responsibilities of citizenship.

I think this might add more context 👍🏼
• 1943: Autism described as a distinct condition
• Austrian-American psychiatrist Leo Kanner published a landmark paper titled "Autistic Disturbances of Affective Contact".
• Based on his study of 11 children, Kanner defined "early infantile autism" as a unique condition, separate from childhood schizophrenia.
• That same year, Donald Triplett became the first person in history to receive a formal autism diagnosis.
• 1955: Tylenol brand introduced
• McNeil Laboratories released the first
Tylenol product, a children's elixir containing acetaminophen.
• This occurred 12 years after autism was first clinically defined.
Additional context
• Before 1943: While autism was not yet formally defined, similar behavioral traits were noted in earlier medical literature. Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler used the term
"autistic" in 1911 to describe a symptom of schizophrenia, but not as a separate disorder.

I am Antifa 💞😎💞
US authorities can act against "any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa, or for which Antifa or any person claiming to act on behalf of Antifa provided material support," the order said.
What is the Antifa movement?
Antifa stands for anti-fascism or anti-fascist, and is derived from early 1930s Germany, where socialist
"anti-fa" groups stood against Adolf Hitler's Nazis.
It is a left-wing political movement that also identifies as anti-racist, with many of its protests staged against white supremacy.
A decentralized movement, Antifa has no national leader and is made up of "independent, radical, like-minded groups and individuals," according to a
2020 Congressional Research Service analysis.

According to Ground News, the momentary change in ICE directives is moot.🤢💔 ground.news/article/trum...
• On June 16, the Department of Homeland Security rescinded previous instructions and directed agents to continue enforcement operations targeting workers in agricultural, hospitality, and food service sectors nationwide.
• This reversal followed an earlier pause on worksite raids issued just a week prior amid industry complaints about labor shortages.
• Officials directed ICE agents during a
Monday call with 30 field offices to continue enforcement actions targeting agricultural businesses, hospitality, and restaurant sectors.
• President Trump stated on Truth Social that
ICE should "do all in their power" to deliver the largest mass deportation program in history, citing harm to farmers and hotel workers.
• The resumption of raids highlights increased enforcement pressure despite protests in Los Angeles and concerns about ICE's budget and arrest quotas.

How those who are seeking asylum are being treated…
It was Ms. Ghasemzadeh who told a reporter "only a miracle can save us."
She said she was an English teacher who, in Iran, had converted to Christianity in an underground church. According to Iran's Islamic Shariah law, converting from Islam is considered apostasy and is a crime punishable by death.
She left Iran in December, she said, hoping to build a new life in the United States. She knew that Mr. Trump was deporting migrants, she added, but thought, "I'm i.» a criminal, I am educated, I will show them my qualifications, my conversion to Christianity papers."
Ms. Ghasemzadeh took a series of flights to Mexico, she said, and then headed for the southern border, paying a smuggler around $3,000 to help her climb over the border wall. She was soon picked up by border officials. After five days in federal custody, Ms.
Ghasemzadeh said, all the deportees except for the children had their hands tied and their feet shackled by U.S. authorities.

Artemis Ghasemzadeh fled Iran, where she could face a death sentence for converting to Christianity. At the hotel in Panama, she wrote "Help us" on a window with lipstick.
Her group was placed on a gray militaryHer group was placed on a gray military airplane - more than 100 people from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, China and other nations, according to the Panamanian government.
Once on board, an Uzbek woman who was with her two young children fainted, according to Ms. Ghasemzadeh and a couple who were sitting next to them. The children were crying.Ms. Ghasemzadeh said that she and nine other Iranian Christians, including three children, ages 8, 10 and 11, had spent their days in the hotel, frantically trying to get help from the outside. At night they read from a copy of the Bible she had on her cellphone.
Mr. Ruiz-Hernández, Panama's deputy foreign minister, said the migrants were being held in the hotel as a stopgap measure, because the Trump
administration had asked Panama to take the migrants quickly and a separate facility for migrants was still being prepared.
Panama, Mr. Ruiz-Hernández said, is "a ^ leader and strategic partner in migration management," adding that his government and the United States had an agreement and were "respecting human rights."

“Every generation faces a moment when it is called upon to redeem democracy from an existential threat. We must not bemoan the fact that we are playing our part in the long arc of redemption that has safely delivered us to this point. Our task is to serve as a bridge in the arc to the next generation. If all we do is hold back the forces of darkness, that will be enough. If all we do is endure and outlast the bastards, that will be enough. But I am confident that we can and will do much more.”
