Ossoff did well in the debate and is better than the alternative But his repeated moves to vote with MAGA land him on the FAR right of the Dems He votes with MAGA almost as much as Fetterman (8% compared to 10%) And this response to voting away due process for immigrants? Bleh.

They're literally looking to North Korea and the Taliban to figure out what our policies are at this point It's wild how many tens of millions of votes they'll still get

If only he didn't consistently cross the aisle and vote with MAGA to give in to their bullshit on immigrant rights and vote to strip away due process for immigrants Still clearly the better choice, but I will never understand this Ossoff love after his votes for shit like Laken Riley

Look, I know we don't get to choose our own name at birth. But if my parents were insane and named me that, I would simply change it LOL When you have a name like that and don't change it, it says a lot about who you are And when you see someone with a name like that and vote for them...oof

Uh yeah, it's worked great countless times. Take a look at The Montreal Protocol and note how we're not all dying from a giant hole in the ozone right now. What doesn't work is when people just cede ground to the corporations and pretend like consumer choice will fix their abuses.

I'm just a guy who likes technology, likes cool new features, and likes to see things made that help the disabled, or the elderly, or caregivers And I think it's shit that people have decided we should abandon those good things and purposefully dumb down our stuff instead of just regulating corps
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 14h
Yeah, wanting to keep improving the things we use by adding new features is ignorance LOL "Seat belts? No one wants to pay more for a car with all these new bells and whistles!"
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 14h
Plenty of people want those things, and thus far not a single person has given a real argument for why we shouldn't have or want those features other than "it will cost more" which is, again, absurd. Adding an extra $0.49 cents to a $2000 refrigerator is entirely inconsequential.

"It's a phone. It only needs to make phone calls. Brands try to distinguish their products so they add silly features - bells and whistles - like texting and apps. It's absurd." Do you see how silly you sound?
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 14h
Yeah, as it turns out, new features are actually a good thing people will pay a lot of money for. Even if not every person uses every feature. Which is why someone saying, "we don't need a phone with Wi-Fi, we just need it to make phone calls!" would sound silly to most people
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 15h
What kind of price increase are you talking about? lol Adding Wi-Fi to something takes literally pennies And yes, things with cool new features sometimes cost more than things without That doesn't make those features bad, nor mean they shouldn't exist Just such a silly argument lol
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 15h
Why did we turn phones into hand held computers? Again, plenty of people only need them to make phone calls and this same argument was made when smart phones were introduced My grandma didn't want to upgrade from her Nokia for years because she didn't need it Does that make phones with WiFi bad?
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 15h
Again, it doesn't "need" them There's just zero downside to having them and getting all the features they provide if we simply regulate the corporations making them properly "I don't want cool new features, give me things that do less" is not the proper response to this

Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 15h
Appliances of all kinds fail every single day Just because something might break doesn't mean it isn't well designed or that those features shouldn't exist It needs a clock so you can set it to brew on schedule

Wow it's almost like there was a reason why pro-Palestinian protestors were demanding Mamdani fire the fucking NYPD police commissioner. There is some real "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas" energy from camp "Mamdani never does anything wrong" these days.

Protestors confront Zohran Mamdani as he comes out for his press conference.

He said that ICE sped out of the hospital. He did not note that the NYPD cleared the way for them.

Yes, something it could still do without a problem lol Whole lot of people don't need their phone to do anything but make phone calls, does that mean it's a bad thing for phones to have texting in them just because you may not need it or use that function?

Send a notification when things are finished brewing, change the time of the alarm, integrate with something like Home Assistant automations, keep clock set automatically The question is, why wouldn't you want Wi-Fi in a coffee machine if it was well designed and implemented?

If only he didn't constantly cross the aisle to vote with MAGA to do things like take away due process for immigrants. He's better than Collins but just barely.

Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
There's literally nothing wrong with a coffee maker having Wi-Fi It's actually a good thing with benefits that people could find quite useful It doesn't need Internet access and the company doesn't need to collect data, that's the thing we should take issue with New features are good actually

They are booing him because he is refusing to shut down the illegal sale of stolen Palestinian land in New York synagogues. Not because he attended a memorial. I like Zohran but it's shitty and he should do better.

The cool part is, this is what's going to make her lose. "WIN first by alienating your base, pissing off the people who would vote for you, and depressing your voter turnout to appease fascists who would never vote for you no matter what" is not actually a great strategy as it turns out

First thing I teach the new employees starting off: learn how to escalate properly You wouldn't think it was a skill, but being able to give details properly about what the thing you're trying to do is, what you've done so far, and what problem you're running into makes life easier for everyone

So let me get this straight, it's your contention that no Israeli has ever forced a Palestinian out of their home? Every single Palestinian willingly sold their home and then just regretted the sale after? This whole war is just buyer's remorse? That's really what you're going with? lol

Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
P.S. "that's what history says" is just so fuckin funny lol
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Yeah the problem with your analogy is that your "home" is stolen, the people who actually owned it are the ones barging in, and you are only inside because you forced them out of their house at gunpoint and murdered their family to steal it. Those people have every right to shoot at you after that.
120
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
LOL If I come to your home, point a gun at your face, tell you to leave, take everything you own, take your house, take your land, and you get mad at that and push me...does it make sense to say I was attacked? "History" doesn't say that shit, Israel does. You're literally just making shit up.

Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Speaking of people who don't understand anything about AI... There's no such thing as "making AI responsible" and relying a company to police itself through fear of their jobs instead of just properly regulating the technology is a silly strategy.
110
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Then why haven't we? If we can "easily destroy one of those by popular demand" then why have we not done so literally a single time in my entire life? Feels like it's not actually as "easy" as you make it out to be.
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Yeah history says that Israel was created by taking people's land and possessions and murdering those who dared to fight back against that Just because some racist European bigots wanted to get the Jewish people away from them doesn't give anyone the right to violently seize people's homes ffs
150
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Yeah, I mean it's nearly impossible to get politicians to do literally anything even when it has overwhelming support and is a super clear message. Look at Medicare for All. Now we expect them to be able to push against the richest people on Earth with fractured support and no clear agenda?
100
Teeklin @teeklin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
It would be great to get to fixing the problems, but we can't get any politicians to take that fight seriously and address it because half of the people are over here telling them that AI doesn't work and has no value, while the other half are telling them how good it's been for them.
