Wrote a short story years ago about the park bench i used to sleep at when i was at my lowest. Didn't get to finish it. Thought to write about it again just because. #mélange #vss365

Different people sit here," the park bench sighed, "I've tasted the whole buffet. A mélange of smells, sights, and tastes."

"You 𝑡𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒 them?" the boy asked, clearly thinking about how he hasn't bathed in a week, "How do I taste like?"

"Bitter. The bitterness you get from 70% chocolate. That's good. I've tasted the other kind of bitter. The bitterness of regret, of unimaginable pain, of betrayal. The last one's the foulest, I think."

If it could, the park bench would have shrugged.
